This does somewhat piss me off unnecessarily - I mean, what do I really care if some Mcdonalds flunky has found a way to improve their performance review by having me pull forward 10 feet? But I do care.

A sleeve of cookies. Usually, it's said with regret in the context of eating a "whole sleeve" (e.g., http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34...e#post51862523). There is no good, positive word for this thing, and therefore it must be evil, and should not exist.

You could argue that it pisses you off that society has come to this. As a parent, I think anyone who takes the time to read 1000 books to their child before kindergarten and have them sit and listen to them does in fact deserve a medal.

why do you think the mom read the books and not a person at preschool?

When I purchase something like a book, magazine or newspaper that has the barcode on the rear, I like to pass it over the counter to the assistant barcode side up (on top). I believe this is quicker as it helps the assistant find the barcode and also sort of hides from others what I'm buying. No - I'm not buying pron.

So why the hell does the assistant hand the purchased article back to me by turning it over so the barcode is now on the bottom? Every freaking time. Jeez!

Which is precisely why it shouldn't have been up voted to the front page. Title is also a bit misleading.

That items, such as tshirts, that will never be resealed once opened are sold in zip bags now, especially when they have a hole in the bag to feel the material.

That lots of food stuffs that are resealed, such as sleeves of cookies and cereal, are not sold in resealable packages only makes it more tilting. It's 2017.

Also when people say what year it is to punctuate a complaint. I probably already hit that one earlier itt.

Maybe because they had to turn it over to scan the item and didn't want to turn it over again because that's a waste of time?

Not to mention that they work in the store everyday and probably have a system of efficiency that works well for them in scanning/bagging, etc. The cashier probably is tilted by people trying to help them along in their $8/hr job.

Speaking of, I was at a store the other day and had about 12 smallish items in my hand basket. When in line I go to put them on the counter and the lady almost yells at me, "Just leave the whole basket on the belt and I'll take the stuff out!". Seems counterproductive for me, but whatev.
