Not to mention that they work in the store everyday and probably have a system of efficiency that works well for them in scanning/bagging, etc. The cashier probably is tilted by people trying to help them along in their $8/hr job.
Speaking of, I was at a store the other day and had about 12 smallish items in my hand basket. When in line I go to put them on the counter and the lady almost yells at me, "Just leave the whole basket on the belt and I'll take the stuff out!". Seems counterproductive for me, but whatev.
