Thank Christ i live in a civilised country where guns aren't considered an extra finger. I used to dream of living in the USA as a kid, but now as an over the hill adult, i think ill stay put in this ****hole. Because, at least here, people dont get shot every 5 minutes and get away with it on some bs legal technicality

I think it's most important to realize we have no ****ing clue what really happened.

This seems to me a lot like a really horrible thing where I have a hard time assigning blame to anybody given what we know. It's obviously a terrifying, emotional situation for everybody and we should assuming people are thinking/reacting in a predictable fashion. Just an example of the dangers of solving problems with lethal force.

Nah, this isn't that bad for me. I just haven't spazzed out on the forum in a few months, and you're starting to forget. Not sure what TX laws are, but with those ages could be sexual assault or statuatory rape, even if consensual. Not many people here have been in position of catching someone raping their daughter - to be able to say what they would do.

we're missing some pretty critical details though. was the dad pointing his gun at the boyfriend when he told him not to move? were the lights on? was the boyfriend even aware that the dad was armed?
