The most effective way is drugs.

Alternatively find something that you can eat every day that makes you feel full for long with low calories. Just eat a little at the time and make sure you don't have snacks lying around. When you're hungry stretch and wait with eating for a while. I lost 20 pounds last year mostly by just cutting down on how much I ate. Rough in the beginning, but relatively soon I wouldn't feel hungry even if I didn't eat for a while. The stomach shrinks rapidly if it isn't full all the time and will make you less hungry. For this reason it's also important that you don't stuff yourself, because that will keep your stomach from decreasing in size*

*I may remember some of this stuff wrongly.

Best post so far IMO. I've noticed now that I'm closer to 40 I can't lose the belly flab as easy as I used to. Back in my 20's it was easy. Just cut down to one meal a day for a week or two and it was gone. That doesn't work at all anymore. I finally figured out the trick (at least for myself) on how to get rid of it at this age and the quoted post pretty much sums it up.

Cut out all the junk, specifically all the sugar. I don't eat breakfast. Ever. My first meal is around lunchtime and I eat twice a day. For lunch I try to have a salad and very small portion of whatever my regular lunch would be. Supper, I just eat a very small portion of whatever I normally would eat. By very small portion I mean less than half what I used to eat and I never really ate that large of portions to begin with. I started buying thin sliced meats for between meals. My preferred choice is a honey ham and when I start getting hungry between meals I just grab 3-4 slices of it and I'm good to go until my meal. Usually have to grab another 3-4 slices at some point before I go to bed too. The calorie intake from the thin sliced meat is so low that I feel like it basically doesn't even count but it satisfies the craving. In the past, this is when I would grab the bag of doritos and polish of half the bag.

Since cutting way down on my portions and snacking on the sliced meat, I really notice how much my stomach has shrunk. I go out to eat now with the wife and when I get half way through a meal that I normally would easily finish, I find myself so full that I can't eat another bite. It's crazy to me but it works. Didn't take long to start to see the results.

Idc how big your stomach is. Just don't constantly fill it up and you won't be the next titanic on "my 600lb life" with that oddly shaped doctor calling you a cheater every time you tell him you followed his 1200 calorie/day diet but somehow gained weight.

BTW, is it a mystery that when someone that weighs 700lbs starts consuming only 1200 calories per day with no junk food, they can lose 100 ****ing pounds in 2 months?

God I hate that show, but my wife binge watches that ****

My wife found it earlier this year on Hulu (?) and binged it in maybe two weeks. Every time I mocked one of the fat people, which is the only way to watch that **** show IMO, I got an earful. Also created some drama when I spoilered her by asking if that was the contestant who died on the show..

Among all that absolutely ridiculous stuff on TV that show is in its own category.

I'm down 30 pounds since the Superbowl by eating around 1200 calories a day and walking 3-5 miles a day. 6'3 went from 220 to 190.

Considering anything over 200 is considered overweight if you're not jacked (which I'm not) I'd wager I didn't burn any muscle. Thanks though.

Meh, I feel better than I have since high school. Haven't noticed a decrease in my ability to do my manual labor job. My knees don't ache every morning and I can run a mile in under 10 minutes now. If that cost a bit of muscle I'm ok with it.

The whole point is that you could have had the same results while burning way less muscle though.

You can't lose nearly 4 pounds per week and have it all be fat.

Aren't you a poker dealer? Not really what I'd consider a manual labor job. Let's see how much you're squatting.

What Jean doing is fine, I think for someone who doesn’t give a **** about muscle mass or weights. It’s totally more than okay for him to be doing that. He’s eve prolly eating healthier too. If he was a pro athlete on it would be different.

If you at good and feel good then grata dude!

I weighed myself 6 months ago and supposedly that scale said 142lbs but at teh doctes office hte other day i was 129.

i KNOW i didnt do anythign differently in 6 months, i still drink 5-6 cans of coke a week, still try to stay below 2k calories so maybe the scale was off.

im just scared ****less for what lies ahead for me, i am the most unhealthiest eater you will meet and once you hit 30 supposedly your metabolism goes dead. I do lift 2-3x a week, i walk once a week for about 4-8 miles, but thats not enough, it easy to say "change your diet" or "eat better" "stop eating out" but i just cant seem to get around to do it.
