I smother mine with butter and maple syrup. Without that it's barely any calories (or taste).

Eggos would be a good breakfast item.

Putting the O/U at 48. Those things are mostly air and cardboard. 24 seems super easy.

waffles without butter or syrup would be great for 2p2 Russia eating contest.

Id probably dominate, since I eat my waffles without butter and syrup normally!

Deeply sorry for snoozing through the whole thing. Well done to folks! By coincidence this weekend I had to blaze through a bag of 42 nuggets in my freezer but my dog helped, so that's probably cheating.

Wouldn't have been game for a synchronised eating given the +5 - +8 timezone differential resulting in me eating at 1am or alone.

But kudos to all who ventured!

Best,
Pete

Alobar,

I might mix it up with a box of market pantry (target), Lucerne (Safeway), nice (Walgreens), and 365 (whole foods).

Or maybe mix it up with some other brands. I've had these before http://juliesorganic.com/ice_cream_sandwiches/ and they are a little less sweet than regular ice cream sandwiches, which could prove valuable. Klondike ice cream sandwiches are pretty good too, but are a little bigger.

I think any ice cream sandwich 150 calories or above will count.

If someone wants to eat https://www.madewithnestle.ca/parlou...super-sandwich or similar, go for it! Still count as one sandwich, though.

Questions:

Are flavors other than vanilla allowed?

Are cookies other than basic chocolate wafer allowed? Like http://www.klondikebar.com/products/...cream-sandwich or http://www.klondikebar.com/products/...cream-sandwich ?

My inclination is to let any type of ice cream sandwich count here. Just has to be 150 cals or over to count.

24 without any toppings is like 2300 cals. If you add butter and maple syrup because you're not poor (**** aunt jamima) then it probably doubles. Not very easy to eat 4500 cals normally.

Unless you're dipping them in water they are quite voluminous. Have you seen what 24 waffles stacked looks like? It's like the size of a 2L coke bottle. Plus you'll get the beetus from the syrup at around waffle 20.

i feel good about putting away 96 eggo waffles. those things never filled me up as a kid.

edit: probably closer to 35. there is also a logistics issue with heating them.

Yeah volume is the thing but I apparently was born with the ability to eat a ton of food in one sitting.

I wouldn't put much on the Eggos. Would just go for count.

Alobar:

I think they have Meadow Gold in AZ. I think those are better than many of the generic store brands. I know they have more cals and might be slightly bigger.

I agree different flavors should be allowed, as long as we're still talking about ice cream sandwiched between 2 cookie-based objects (i.e. not bars, cones, etc). Still count by sandwiches not calories though, so you have to weigh the cost of going with more exotic options.

Eating plain eggos really isn't much of a celebration. Definitely worse than plain nuggets.

that sounds legit to me. I doubt I eat anything but plain vanilla, but if someone wants to celebrate with mint or chocolate or whatever else, dont think it should matter

I just finished off 4 of these as a trial, with ease. 5'10" 140 and never done any serious celebratory eating, but I'm pretty confident I could do 12-18.

Ung,

Good review on those (vanilla flavor): http://www.sfgate.com/food/tastersch...am-2582921.php

And Walgreens (not sure if they're the same now that they've rebranded their store brand as Nice): http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/m...best/index.htm

Gonna do some research at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, and Whole Foods to see what my options are. I think a mix might help here. On the other hand, there's a purity to just keeping true to the basic traditional sandwich.

I tried the Market Pantry Target ones today.

They were acceptable but not top tier.

I prefer my normal brand but these are slightly smaller so I'll go with the defacto benchmark.

I'm def in for IC sammiches. On more than one occasion I've crushed a 6 pack of the 365 brand, which are pretty good. I'll have to check out the walgreens brand, I didn't even know that was a thing.

wow, so I got some of the Nice brand from walgreens. ****ing delicious. So good in fact that I didn't even waste any time going to other stores. Ice cream was nice and creamy, cookie is tastey but not too sweet. The little woman is already under instructions to get me the target brand after work today and I imagine I'll try safeways at some point before then since I just do my shopping there, but I'm not gunna waste anytime looking.

I was only going to have 1, but I've already eaten 3 of these. I should be able to do at least a dozen I would think.

I can't do the ICS's but I might celebrate with everyone by destroying a couple boxes of these.
