That's a poke bowl. That specific bowl consists of regular, albacore, and spicy tuna poke with just a tiny bit of rice (the rice you can see is pretty much all the rice) and a little bit of seaweed salad.

The directions recommend you fill the bowl full of rice, add some veg, then a little bit of fish on top lol. That bowl was like $12, pretty good for pretty much all fish. Lololol pricing for someone who gets much other stuff. This is fancy grocery store poke, it's ok but not great. Love really good poke.

Well, not super confident at all. I'd guess something like this AT BEST:

10: 90%
12: 85%
15: 75%
18: 65%
20: 55%
22: 45%
25: 30%

Pretty confident I'll make 15. That's based on hitting an initial wall at 10-12 and powering through a few more. I'm hoping my savory strategies will push that initial wall to like 15-17.

I bought 76, but euro doesn't like c&c so I practiced a little with those. Now have 70 remaining. I found a sweet spot of partial melting where they still hold the sandwich structure but you can easily down them in like three bites, and the cookie softens a lot too, minimizing chewing requirements. I'm gonna be aiming for that consistency.

I'm prob about 60% committed. Something like this:

Euro initially thought doing it together would help motivate each other to reach great heights, but today he is getting nervous and said this: "I told myself I wouldn't try to be a hero if I felt terrible and I plan to stick to that"

We'll see, though. He has incredible WIM and I'm not sure he'll be able to stick to that. I told him I think 21 will top the charts and 25 will for sure.

The sushi celebration will be the pinnacle of these events. Everything else is just building up to that.

My number when I did sushi 10+ years ago was 65 or 67 pieces. I was a young man then, though. On the other hand, I didn't like sushi then and I love it now.

Our rules were simple: one piece of nigiri, one piece of cut roll, one potsticker, etc - all count as one piece. Fine balance to get right - variety vs volume vs deliciousness.

We weren't competing or anything but I did go piece-for-piece with Euro at AYCE sushi a few years back.

Sampled one after dinner; couple observations:

1) They are quite small; feeling good about 15.

2) Holy **** I forgot how delicious these things are. Could easily eat half a dozen right now without blinking.

I just cannot imagine the broth is a good idea but what do I know. The chips, I get the idea of wanting a contrast, but still ugh. Strawberries seem like a good accompaniment though.

He told me the "not gonna be a hero" line this morning. Obviously told him he shouldn't even think of coming home if he doesn't crack 20.
