This has been a point of interest to me for a while now. I came out of a long-distance, long-term (4 1/2 year) relationship in November, and all the way through the relationship I hardly thought about her at all when she wasn't there, which she wasn't most of the time (out of sight, out of mind?) yet I was too lazy/didn't really think about whether I really loved her or not and should ditch her (I told her in Rome two years in that I loved her, who knows if I really meant it, but maybe I convinced myself that I did).
Basically in hindsight I can't believe I wasted half of my twenties with this girl who I really didn't have much in common with.
Now I have realised that I don't really think about any girl I'm dating when I'm not with them, UNTIL now with this nurse girl, which is really exciting. Even the girl I went on four dates with in February who was an 8 I didn't think about when I wasn't with her but then it hit me really hard when she said she couldn't see me any more, like I had just assumed we would end up together as things were going so well.
I've come to the conclusion that what makes me really excited about girls and specifically gets me thinking about them, as well as the idea of screwing them, is imagining myself doing certain activities with them in the future. For example earlier in the year I went on a date with a girl who said she plays competitive football (soccer) and I thought that was hot and was imagining her in little shorts running around and falling in mud and going to see her play every week. lol.
Cliffs: Do you think about a specific girl in the early stages of dating a lot when you're not with her? If you do, is it a sign you're REALLY into her? If not, isn't that just normal?
