I don't get the thing about TSA pre-check - people really put that in their profile?

wtf is "dog aunt", I haven't seen that - are they the go-to babysitter (pet-sitter?) for their friend's dog?

rob,

I've seen "TSA precheck" or "you must be TSA precheck" on about 15% of profiles.

pocket,

I don't exactly know what a dog aunt is. Maybe their sibling has a dog?

Also today I learned that every woman in chicago is basically a female Ernest ****ing Hemingway, constantly having spectacular adventures all over the world. Ok.

Spitballing/ likely wrong here-- is the TSA precheck thing a signal for the professional class? Feel like everyone I know who has precheck is a lawyer/MBA/etc

Sounds like they want someone who travels a lot despite having a job that keeps them so busy they don't have time to wait in line.

where's my prince charming?

Serious question tho. I just saw this in a bio and don't know wtf it means. Woman is really hot imo:
I take that quote to mean that you should respect her before engaging in sex.

I suggest being barefoot when you meet her.

I take it as she loves the d but thinks she's super spiritual and intelligent, so you just ask her about nirvana and you'll be plowing her with ski boots on in 12 minutes

If my body is a temple, it's a buddhist one. You should take your shoes off before you come inside.
Just crude, immature innuendo. Big plus in my book.

Facebook users can set up a dating profile, “unlock” groups and events and see profiles of other single folks who share those interests or plan to attend the same event. You can then privately text (no nasty pics allowed) to meet in person.

...

The new Facebook dating app provides a “safe zone” where you are practically guaranteed to have at least one thing in common with someone who, from the tiny profile pic allowed, appears to have no visible goiters.

While you could always just go to the event and chat up cold-call style over the inevitable Trader Joe’s veggie tray, who needs that kind of stress? I don’t see a down side to this sort of TSA precheck for relationships. When it comes to matters of the heart, if there’s an option that moves a lot faster and lets you keep your shoes on, what’s not to love?

I'm on a cold streak again. The girls I am dealing with are such flakes. Sick last minute, too busy to meet. I am just not putting in the effort that I use to and I guess the results have suffered.

Most hilarious bio so far is "dog milf in a non-monogamous relationship" from an exceptionally unattractive woman.

Got 2 matches so far, the first one has like 3 hours left to message me. Whatevs.

The second one messaged me and we've been chatting. She seems cool and we've been to the same restaurant a few times. It's a good brunch place so I'm thinking at some point I'll ask if she wants to get brunch there. What's a normal time frame of messaging back and forth until you ask to meetup?

My least favorite woman profile phrase is “Searching for my unicorn”. But it’s so true. These idiots are literally searching for something that doesn’t exist.

And I hate the reappropriation of older terminology. Everyone knows a unicorn is a woman sought for a threesome by a MF couple.

I used the extend thing and she messages me 10 seconds later lol, what exactly is this strategy?

Reconnected with a girl I used to have a huge crush on by sliding in her DMs on IG. We both lived in NYC and ran in the same circle of friends about 5 years ago-- I definitely would have considered her a friend at the time, but we've fallen out of touch since. I think i asked her out once right as i was leaving NYC but we couldn't find time to meet up. Now we are both in the Bay Area, ended up having a long (at least for Instagram) convo about how we've liked living out here.

I mentioned that me and a buddy of mine had made tentative plans to explore her neighborhood sometime soon and she proactively mentioned she'd like to join, offering up a ton of spots as suggestions.

I think the plan is (1) message her when I know when we'll be in her hood, (2) if she comes to join, and the chemistry is still there, find some reason (bar she hasn't tried, etc.) to meet up 1-on-1, then (3) it's a date? I mean, is it reasonable to expect that two single, heterosexual, not naturally connected (through work, etc.) 31 year olds of the opposite sex getting drinks together are by definition indicating interest in each other? That's the way I look at it, but curious if this is standard.

It would actually be really cool if she CAN'T meet up when me and my friend are out, then proceed straight to step #3.

Probably the system reminds her about you when you extend. She may have lots of matches but figured a lot of the guys just swiped right on lots of women, and she wants to make sure they are serious before bothering to make contact.
