5 guys is all about franchising and opening as many stores as possible. The one in our area has been a disaster and I doubt it is still open by the end of the year. Cramer has a good article about Shake Shack. Their stores generate twice as much as a Chipotle. That is impressive. Plus, their US stores are company owned which means they will grow slower but more strategically than a franchised based operation.

Had Freebirds today, pretty sure they are going to replace Chipotle and Barbacoa has my go to fast food burrito spot. Got the grass fed steak burrito w/ cayenne tortilla with cilantro rice, black beans, salsa, veggies and jalapeno sauce.

You can also make it a combo for $2.99 and a drink and your choice of chips and queso or a dulce de leche brownie. Had the brownie and it was top top.

All in all Freebirds >>>>> Chipotle

There was a damn long line at my local Chipotle. It snaked through the restaurant.

I got the sofrita burrito. I say it was surprisingly really tasty. I bet most people could be fooled that it was a chicken burrito.

BTW the tofu had a good kick... I wouldn't call it bland.

Oh, my daughter going into Chipotle said she wouldn't eat the tofu... When she actually tasted it, she liked it and ate everything my wife gave her.

Mine sold out too, and the manager came over and told the long line that they'd honor the deal for any order. Got the receipt with a manager signature, and was told at checkout that I could now come back for a free sofritas burrito. Not exactly the same deal, says the nit in me, since they charged me $7.20 for the barbacoa burrito and I get a $6.50 burrito in exchange, rather than the other way around. Meh.
