I'm definitely going to be getting a double whopper for $3 this week.

Such great value.

I you BK.

No one says that.

It's a really good fast food burger. (skip the fries)

Can't be S tier with those fries though

The fries are polarizing, I like them a lot. I know others who do too. But there are many who feel the opposite.

S being the absolute nuts while d is the nut low. So like we would put CFA and INOUT at the s level
and back when 'S' was actually used on report cards it meant satisfactory.

In n out burgers are so much better than the average burger you can get at that price range that it's not even close. Yes the fries are high variance but they are just different than fries at most fast food places so that adds to the fries gripe as well I think. I feel like I'm gambling every time I go to Rick's, Wendy's, Carl's, etc to get a burger. It might be great. It might be okay. It might be awful. I never have to worry about that with INO and the quality and freshness of their ingredients crushes all the big burger chains. INO isn't so good because it's gonna be the best burger you've ever had. It's so good because no other chain at that price point has the quality control and freshness standards of INO. No, a $4 cooked to order double cheeseburger won't change your life or give you some kind of out of body experience but it's excellent for what it is.

I also do have to say that the one time I went to INO the worker who took my order was extremely professional and quite cordial.

Made the burger taste that much better.

Flame on Haters

Today I skipped Arby's for Qdoba (my local spot doesn't charge for guacamole, thank you sweet baby Jesus) and I was able to ask for some more pico de gallo on my brisket bowl.

The brisket I have to say was actually exquisite. Walking into Qdoba today I didn't know what to expect. I had gotten the brisket a few times before. Once it was a bit subpar, while another time it was merely just good. But this time it was like a Brisket taste explosion in my mouth. Savory goodness all around.

For my beverage of choice I chose a ****ing non fat Dasani flavored raspberry which I feel is the top choice of Dasani flavored water. If you've never given it a try I highly recommend it.

That's reasonable, but I think people are saying the amount of praise it gets is disproportionate to all the pro's you listed above.

I don't know how many times I've heard people say OMG you have to go to INO if you're visiting Cali. Um okay, I'm all the way here and I should try a burger not because it's great, but because it won't be bad...?

I don't think it's hard to see that some things have become trendy and cool to like, which is very annoying when the thing is pretty mundane, and INO has joined the ranks quite a while ago.

And fwiw, I've never had a bad Wendy's Doublestack (which is pretty damn good), and before the price hike, I think 2-3 of those are better value than one INO burger !

I don't know man, don't go then? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ha! It's a regional classic so of course people are going to suggest it. I've lived in socal my whole life and always tell out of towners to remember that it's just a fast food cheeseburger because yeah in the internet age things seem to get hyped up. I also expect an out of towner to have a different experience than someone who's been eating there their whole life like me. I've had years to experience the consistency, quality etc. If you just drop in and have it once it's harder to appreciate that. The greatness of INO is subtleties.

I basically gave up beef ~15 years ago, when I left LA, and go years at a time w/o eating a burger. I still crave INO at times and will often go there at least once when I go to LV or LA. For anyone sensitive to fresh, quality ingredients, it's great and not very expensive. If you judge it purely on weight of beef per $, it's not going to win, but it tastes great and you're not getting some frozen burger that may have gristle and may have been under a heat lamp or in a microwave. If I'm hungry, I'll get two cheeseburgers (grilled onions ofc), fries, and a shake. The shakes are good too. The fries aren't all that, but they are what fries are supposed to be: fresh cut potatoes that are then fried... not dozens of chemicals mixed together to become "french fries," then frozen until you order. The fact that INO is such an exception just shows what utter crap we normally consume as fast food.

I also wanted to give a shout out to the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich at Rick's. Go there about once a month using the receipt survey for 2 for 1 sandwiches and it has never disappointed.

Maybe the Medford INN sucks and/or my taste buds are deadened from years of salty ff, but the burger simply was not memorable. The lame fries were.

On the positive side, my 4 4 4 JBC yesterday hit the spot. Wendys also only uses fresh beef.

I've never had 'gristle' in my burgers from chain ff. I don't know where this urban legend came from. I've had stringy beef for school lunch, never at mcd, bk, etc.

I've had some pretty low quality slop served to me from the big 4 burger chains. Wendy's beef is supposedly never frozen but I'd rather it be frozen and cooked right when I order it than cooked "fresh" an hour before I order it.

There is an article on the Wall Street Journal site today that includes a chart showing customer satisfaction with the different fast food chains. Unsurprisingly CFA was well above the others shown. Rick's trailed the pack, must be that BKs elsewhere are marginally more competent than they are around here. Don't recall if INO was listed.

I'd link but that **** is paywalled.

Today, I had two QPC's and drink for $5 (2 for $5 and free drink app deal). A pretty good deal.

The biggest variance to a great QPC is them not over salting it.
