Ya, definitely wasn't bragging. Just pointing out his pricing was pretty average for Subway

Tried something different and went to Popeyes. Got the $5 boneless wing combo sub mashed potatoes. $5.96 total. My thoughts:

- Seemed like a tiny portion of chicken, especially compared to the menu photo
- the Renton Popeyes is the dirtiest ff place I've been to locally. Trash in the parking lot, trash on the floor of the dining room. No ice, no napkins to be found.
- they call them boneless wings but they are white meat. Wings are dark meat. Heh
- mashed potato portions are miserly
- staff was polite
- diet coke on point

Despite the above, the chicken was great and I felt better after eating it. I wish popeyes would mail me coupons, but i did install the app.

But now I'm hungry again!

Bolded is my biggest popeyes complaint, as a part of the overall value prop. They charge like $3 for a side and it's 4 bites of potatoes/rice/slaw. I feel like they should be 80% bigger.

Yeah, does anyone know if Popeye's business model is make all their money from sides and drinks? The all chicken deals they sometimes have (like 11 for $13 or something) are pretty good value but their sides are never less than 3000% profit margin.

If you want chicken and aren't going to order the regular fried pieces then at least go with tenders. I always get 1 or 2 more tenders than I'm supposed to get, even the 3 peice order ends up being a good amount of food. Yeah the sides a really small, biscuit sa as re good though

My McDonald's app now offers a buy one sandwich, get another for 25c deal. If you mobile order, the system will always pick the cheaper sandwich as the one that is reduced to 25c. However, in the past if you used the kiosk, the system would always use the 2nd item as the one to reduce the price.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm curious if this is still true for this current app deal? One cheeseburger and one premium sandwich please...

I also noticed that there is a buy one chicken tenders and get one for 1c deal available too.

I thought 5 Guys was fast-casual and isn't in the same league as McDs and BK? Their burgers are 2-3x as much as true fast food places and should be better.

A fresh Baconator from Dave's first thing when they open is pure Bliss. Once we start getting into $8-10 range for a single Patty sandwich I think we're getting out if the realm of true fast food.

Only had in and out a few times but it tasted exactly the same as McD but with better quality beef not a fan. Don't really like BK but prefer the Whopper to any burger on McD menu.

$8.59 for huge double patty cheeseburger and regardless of price it's a fast food setting. The burgers taste really damn good to me not sure how they could be better except preparing Medium Rare

I mean it's in the corner of a Walmart parking lot so I'm not surprised. Inside that walmart there used to be (maybe still is?) a small McDonald's. That place was way way way way worse than Popeyes is.

I'm still on a long term boycott of Popeyes after their retirement of honey mustard like five years ago so I don't have the most up to date information.
