I would worry about the driver messing with my food if he saw on the order slip I stiffed him on the tip

LMAO! Wtf did you order? This what a standard INO dressed burger looks like with no substitutions. Looks and taste nothing like a McDs cheeseburger or QPC. Are you sure it's INO you are remembering?

They don't see the tip amount. They just see a "guaranteed" total amount combining delivery fee + tip. So if you tip big in the app, they may notice the larger guaranteed minimum, but standard-ish tips can't be detected.

Here are three scenarios for the same $20 DoorDash order from Wendy's.

Scenario #1: You enter a $0 tip on the app.
  • The driver is told the guaranteed minimum payout for the order is $6.00. (Approximate amount but close enough)
  • When the dropoff is complete, DoorDash pays the driver $6.00 ($6 from DoorDash and $0 from you).

Scenario #2: You enter a $4 tip on the app.
  • The driver is told the guaranteed minimum payout for the order is $6.00.
  • When the dropoff is complete, DoorDash pays the driver $6.00 ($2 from DoorDash and $4 from you).

Scenario #3: You enter a $10 tip on the app.
  • The driver is told the guaranteed minimum payout for the order is $11.00.
  • When the dropoff is complete, DoorDash pays the driver $11.00 ($1 from DoorDash and $10 from you).

DoorDash sells this as a "guarantee" so the driver doesn't take a hit from bad tippers, but it's basically stealing tips IMO.

is the $6 fee included on the buyers price? regardless of tip? or is it less than 6 and sometimes the company pays extra to the driver?

It's best to think of the buyer side and driver side as disconnected.

Buyer side, you pay delivery fee (varies by restaurant, $0-$4.99?) plus service fee (10% i think?) plus optional tip.

Driver side, driver gets a different "delivery fee" from DoorDash plus your tip. The driver's "delivery fee" is nebulous because they'll drop it as low as $1 and then use your tip to cover the driver's guaranteed amount.

Anyway, I know this is getting in the weeds, but my point is basically, if you've got cash, give the guy cash rather than tip in the app. It works out better for them, and not just in the usual tax evasion way.

I don't have the FF expertise as others in this thread, but, Panda Express is my airport go to. It is usually quick and tasty, but, I don't play airplane bathroom roulette.

It's good to have the option. I don't like how fussy wings are and prefer easier prey, so well sauced nuggets are fine for me.

And who wants "wings" that are just homogenous, bland meat throughout? Real wings have such variety in the anatomy, some bites are meaty, some have proper gristle, some with a mix of wonderfully crisp skin and meat. We are eating animals, people. I like my wings diverse and my punctuation ambiguous.

Boneless wings are simply a sauce vehicle. Not my bag but I can see it’s purpose. The craggy breading holds way more sauce.

Isn't that good, especially considering the price and I've never seen one with a drive-thru.

Except their fries suck. They're fresh, but they still suck.

Yeah the fries have a lot of variance. I do think there is a sweet spot where they are actually great but unfortunately it only gets hit 1/10 times. Look at the bright side though. If you don't like the fries that just leaves room for another double double.

Think the pizza was better than Little Caesers, worse than Dominos or Papa Johns but still ok.
Pizza Hut used to have really good wing sauce but changed their recipe about 5 years ago. It's really mediocre now. The last time I got their boneless "wings" it didn't taste remotely like chicken, lord knows what it was. Maybe it was coyote, there have been lots of them around lately.

The local Little Squeezers has much better wings, but they are tiny and the place doesn't have a drive-thru.

my question was more, do they get a min flat fee gtd, even with a $0 tip. does that come out of companies pocket or buyers. i get the rest, and how tipping in cash is better. youd be surprised how many people dont tip at all

yeah that is, but that wasnt my point. people complaining about $11 subway and $11 5guys. adding all those options at mcds would end up costing $11 too

IIRC I ate there a few times in Vegas 6 years ago and just got the normal cheeseburger. I guess I'm remembering wrong. I remember ketchup and mustard rather than that sauce and no tomato or lettuce and chopped rather than whole onion. Maybe what I'm remembering is that there was a lot of hype but I didn't find it a whole lot better than the typical fast food place a la McD.

Hmmm I guess I'm going to stop tipping on Doordash, at least on the app. Is Grubhub the same?

I can't imagine using Doordash or Uberfood, or whatever, unless the guy bringing it to me is an employee for the restaurant. They don't have local food worker licenses or training or certification or whatever. I would have to be really falling down drunk or have an injury where I couldn't drive to use a service like that.

Haha, yeah man I don't know what you had. Next time you're in Vegas give it another whirl. Just order a double double exactly how it comes.

It sounds like you went to some place other than In N Out, because that pic is how they've been doing their standard burger for a lot more than 6 years.
