The small size is the one knock I can think of. It definitely cooks better than an actual oven.

Who ever ITT suggested adding black beans is really on the cutting edge of ff consumption and deserves commendation!
I actually might break my Taco Bell hiatus to try this. Sounds decent.

Believe it or not they cook up even better in the air fryer

One of my favorite things to do with my air fryer is throw in some tater tots or french fries, frozen spring rolls, frozen meatballs, chicken nuggets, and drizzling it all with a season blend. In the air fryer at 400 for 10-12 minutes, and on a separate plate have an assortment of 5-6 condiments.

I'm not a seafood eater but I've seen a friend do a "seafood bake" type of deal in there with the potatoes and corn and it looked amazing.

Yeah its a great tool for gameday type parties. Game is on, throw a bunch of random stuff in, shake every few minutes, dump on a platter to serve and start the next batch. Constant yummy hot food with little work involved.

Lazily went through the drive thru for a $1 Coke after work for the hour+ commute today and McDoubles still under the $1 section on the $1$2$3 Dollar Menu on the board. I keep thinking this is some kind of joke but nope they’re still $1, without an app deal or anything. This can’t just be in my market right? Anyone else see them listed for $1?

Yeah, they’re on the board at a buck here too. It does say for a limited time

Yeah the 1 2 3 deal is dead around here. Same thing with the $6 classic combo.

MCDs is power cycling thru their promotions.

100% success rate doing the screenshot scam at Wendys for the $5 Dave's double combo. Still have the offer in app available in case they start asking questions.

Wow the mcd app offers are the worst ever right now

I'll try to make the air fryer derail fit into this thread..

Can it be rigged to put in the car as a type of super fast food cooler?

Also how do you know how long to cook stuff in there for?

Yes, you could bring one in the car if you really wanted to. Standard electrical plug, which some cars accommodate.

Most of the AF talk has been appropriate for this thread though. I mean, reheating fries and tater tots is definite FF thread material.

Most reheats are 1-2 min from room temp, 2-3 min from the fridge, 5-8 min from frozen (or about 1/2 the time of the recommended conventional oven cook time). If you err on the conservative side, you can just test it and put it back in for another minute.

Stopped to get a $1 iced tea today and thought you guys might appreciate the odd stuff at the Maui McDonald’s

I might be talked into that pie but I’m gonna have to pass on the expensive breakfast options. And everything else that’s 50% more expensive than mainland crackdonalds.

While your signature crafted sandwiches are more than a dollar more expensive than here, the meals are still cheaper.

For sure. If they're gonna offer a Spam Platter, I'm surprised they don't have a Spam Egg McMuffin. I could see that being good if done right. The Portuguese Sausage sounds good, but probably isn't at McD's. Slightly better chance of success with the Haupia Pie, although I'm still not overly optimistic.

Prices have been creeping upward pretty steadily. It's getting so that the non-value items aren't worth getting unless you have an offer, whether it's the app, $2/5, $6 meal or whatever. A standard big mac meal large is pushing $9 with tax -- when you can get 2 mcdoubles and a FFDP for $3 plus tax that's bad value.

I haven't been getting fries lately since I'm pretty sick of the variance and for the above value reasons but I went with a value meal yesterday and the mcfries were just absolutely perfect. Hot, crispy, salty as hell right out of the bag. Glorious. They're that good maybe 1 time out of 100 but it's that 1 time that keeps me from giving them up forever.
