went to a TB in beaverton for lunch. three chicken soft tacos and a spicy tostada because i'm trying to watch my calories.

eating inside and sitting in a booth at the opposite end of the dining room from the counter. finished the meal, head's down in my phone and was just about ready to leave when i saw some flashing lights in my peripheral vision. thinking someone got pulled over on the adjacent street i raise my head just in time to see several cop cars storming the parking lot and no fewer than 12 of Beaverton's finest rushing into the store with guns drawn and headed to the counter.

Bull cop is screaming at someone to 'get on the floor.....GET ON THE FLOOR' over and over again, but i can't see who it is because of the partial height wall between them and me. all i can see is the look of utter terror on the face of the teenage girl behind the counter who is witnessing everything first hand and is obviously in the line of fire if things go bad. (to be fair, she had the same look of terror when the spanish speaking person in line ahead of me ordered a $5 box and tried to sub the drink out for another steak taco.)

another cop starts motioning to us sitting at tables to move away from the counter (including some young dad and his pre-teen kid), so i just grab my phone and coat and walk out the door with hands raised.

as soon as i get outside there's two K-9 handlers with dogs and another cop with gun drawn headed my direction. they tell me i can leave and i do. as i'm walking around the building i hear the dogs on full bark inside. no telling what's happening in there.

after sitting in my car for a few minutes (because i was blocked in by cop cars), i watch them bring some young guy out in cuffs, and a cop behind him has an evidence bag with a gun and something else inside. i heard somebody say something about an armed robbery at a starbucks not far away.

guess the dude got hungry and wanted some of those delicious $5 TB boxes with his new found starbucks loot.

My TB stop today was much less dramatic. Got a highly satisfactory breakfast crunchwrap.

New item is Stackers, basically a folded quesadilla from the looks of it. I decided not to pull the trigger on a breakfast one, but will probably try them at some point. Good bye and gtfo to rolled tacos.

Just off the top of my head, I would say that El Pollo Loco crushes Chipotle using that metric.

I've got Chipotle and Los Pollos Hermanos rated neck-and-neck on the healthfulness scale.

When I had a job in Beaverton a couple months ago it was the only time I've ever seen a car completely engulfed in flames in the middle of the freeway at 7 am. LOL Beaverton in every way. Although "Breakfast Car Fire" is a meal I would order.

Get a bowl instead of a burrito. You def get more food that way.

I recommend the grilled steak. Then say yes to basically everything. When they ask if you want guacamole say "**** yeah! I ****in shower in that ****."

re:chipotle if you buy a rice bowl/burrito/whatever... they let you get extra salsa in a cup on the side but then they also sell //chips // chips and salsa //... so unless someone goes there specifically for just chips and salsa, they are scamming people for 60 cents on the salsa that they could have gotten for free!

ps: chipotle chips suck.

Not too terribly long ago I ventured to a local BK for some unhealthy pleasure. Ordered a bacon king meal, asked for no mayo and a 10 piece nugget. Got to the window and the kid told me that they accidentally put mayo on the burger but not to worry, because they made a new one the right way. Oh and I could have the wrong burger as well.

Got to my place a few minutes later and saw they forgot my fries.

Still lost probably 10 days of my life eating both of the bacon kings

When i used to go to Qdoba i would get two soft tacos and a bowl of tortilla soup. Good stuff.

I couldn't do the bacon king - it looked so brutal

2 whoppers (without tomato) 2 double cheeseburgers and large onion rings with zesty sauce. Had one whopper and the rings and feel like death. Decently tasty, but wish that Arby's or Wendy's was open.
