Borgia is lower budget, worse acting, and everyone has random accents (american, french, german, english, italian, wtf) which makes everything feel really weird.
I know it isn't on WI but The Borgias is pretty awesome

OK, i'll watch Hatchi. I love dogs. Had an Australian Sheperd/Border Collie Mix growing up. At least that is what he said, but my guess, even at seven was that he didn't really know much, except she was female.

Is this like, Homeward Bound, Lassie, Milo and Otis, or neither?

Edit: 5 min in...Is that a Corgi? I begged my parents for a Corgi when I was young, but then was talked out of it

Was really into skateboarding/skate videos in my teens. Started this docu the other day but switched between it and the docu on the bones brigade. Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Dan McGill(?), Rodney Mullen and one other can't remember. Some sick footage of teenage Hawk and Mullen just straight killing it. Mullen is in a class of his own imo. Created the kickflip and like 30+ other tricks. His flatland stuff is incredible. His stuff from the 90's and 00's mixing his flatland with street skating is the most impressive skating I've ever seen. Darkslides, primo grinds, pogos, etc. Such an innovative skater. Only skater who comes close to his style is Daewon Song. Check out the Daewon Song vs. Rodney Mullen video series on youtube.

Also started a docu on Christian Hasoi. Guess he got into crystal meth and did some prison time.

Some more reveiws:

Documentaries:

Hoop Dreams - A 1994 doc about tow inner city high school basketball players. Roger Ebert said it was the best film of 1994 (Same year as Pulp fiction, Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump). I thought it was a tad long, but kept my attention throughout and was really good(probably good for even non basketball fans). Its def worth the watch, but its 3 hours long so make sure you have time.

Restrepo - A story about a platoon in the most dangerous part of Afghanistan. Shot in 2007, gives great insight into both casual time and on duty time for the soldiers. Definitely worth the watch.

Beauty is Embarrassing -
This one was the most disappointing of the 3 but I still found it good, but nothing spectacular. its about this artist, Wayne White, who originally had success as a designer for PeeWees playhouse, which is before my time, and then found success in paintings in which he takes cheap mass produced landscpaes and adds words to them. I really enjoy his paintings, but the doc seemed a little jumbled to me. he was all over the board, but some might find it interesting, especially if you grew up liking PeeWees Playhouse.

Movie:

Boy Wonder -
(IMDB 6.7) I saw this recommended on reddit and I enjoyed it. A little rushed in the ending/climax, but overall enjoyed the tone of the film and thought the acting was actually pretty good for being a lot of people i dont recognize. Its about this teenager who becomes a vigilante as he attempts to undercover the truth of his moms death(so to speak, dont know how to really describe it). I would give it a 7.5/10 imo.

I watched lost souls tonight. It's a doc about the downtown Los Angeles homeless population and an amazing look into the lives of homeless people in LA and the reasons behind it. I gave it 5 stars which I very rarely do.

I haven't seen any X files posts in a couple weeks. I have a feeling a lot of people gave up on it to early in season 1. I started the series again watching the alien episodes and noticed season 1 is kind of slow. I would encourage everyone to at least get through season 2. Colony, End Game, Anazasi is where it really starts to get good and season 3 is even better. Here's another link to the main story episodes* in case anyone missed it.

Deadsnow starts out slow but ends awesome. The American version of Let the right one in was good, I haven't seen the other one. Tucker and Dale was glorious. Oldboy was good, I thought Trollhunter was dumb but I turned it off half way through. I would add The Man From Nowhere to the Asian genre Recs.

I'm still going! Almost done with season 3. You?

It's been so long for me (I mean I only watched them on TV as a kid, so 15-20 years or whatever) that I don't remember anything and it's like I'm watching for the first time. Great stuff.

What I love about Xfiles is that their golden years seasonf of 2-6 hit at right about the same time as The Simpsons golden years. For a 4 year stretch Fox had the two best TV shows on air.
