I don't think they sexualized her at all. The movie even commented on how inappropriate it was to have sexual feelings towards her when the one nerdy kid says something like "is it weird I'm turned on right now" and the other nerdy kid mocks him, "dude, she looks like she's 11."

Perfectly normal 11 y.o.? So they deflect it w/ a few comments. Besides, they've crossed a line w/ this movie. There are plenty of movies w/ juvenile killers but nothing in my recollection that celebrates it in this manner.

The At the Movies guys really didn't like this either. I was prepared to discount it, but after all these raves I'm tempted to see it. Although 2p2 has burned me in the past.

First picture is a Gogo Yubari homage and the second picture isn't remotely sexual.

Well, it was 'up' last night at least. I was sweating a friend and sweetie walked by, the OMG! kind and the kind that most of us will only get to look at. Then again, most of you at least have a chance, slim as it is.

I didn't say it turns me on I'm just claiming that as an objective observer my opinion is that an 11 y.o girl has been sexualized by the makers w/ a target audience of youngish males in mind. Clearly nobody agrees (at least to this point) w/ me but if I'm way out of line why the dialogue referenced above? It has no place in the movie if my observation is w/o merit.

I've been following this movie in the film blogs for like 6 months now, happy to see it met expectations. It was ****ing awesome.

I could write my review but I think my favorite blog, Film Drunk, did it a lot better. Link here.

Can't wait to see Marvel struggle with developing "Thor" and "Captain America" after this movie blows up.
