Yeah, you know, because the premises of Night of the Living Dead and Star Wars are plausible.

Those movies are set in different realities. If your movie takes place in Oz, it's plausible to have flying monkeys, just like high school kids with super powers are totally plausible in the realm of super heroes. But this film doesn't seem to be set in that realm, so we are expected to believe that real high school nerds in costumes are going to fight real gangs and criminals. Seems tough to pull off without being stupid. I'm just rating the trailer though.

Weird, seems ive looked up the comic book on wikipedia somehow. I assume linked from another page that was linked to the first page i was looking at.

Anyway, will prob catch at some point but mainly just to see the young sister from (500) Days of Summer kill people and deliver the line "ok you [filtered c-word], lets see what you can do now" and as a **** you to the studios who demanded they rewrite half the film just to get funding and a bigger **** you to the idiot "family values" guys who blew their lid at the dialogue of the film. I also quite liked Mystery Men so ill probably enjoy this.

This film is ****ing amazing, just got back from seeing it. It's like Superbad meets Watchmen with some Tarentino esque stuff going on.

Just seen it this evening. Was great and the sequel is going to be awesome too.

I cant work out if Nic Cage absolutely nailed that role or if he was truly terrible and brought down the film.

Also the dude in charge of picking the music totally nailed it in this film. Every scene which had the music it was chosen perfectly and wasnt the usual BS of just picking 5 modern popular songs and two songs by artists signed by a company that is also owned by the megacorp owned by the production company. Prob the last film i saw and had a similar reaction was Watchmen.

Are we allowed to discuss the movie at length in this thread?
Because I really liked it but still think it had faults and so far it’s being praised like a celluloid second coming.

I haven't seen this yet, but Watchmen? The music in Watchmen was so stupidly on the nose for so many of those scenes that it came across as powerfully schlocky. In some situations that might work but it seemed like a terrible, terrible choice for that movie.

Didn't love the movie but I thought the music in Watchmen was very good.

Such a good scene. Made even better by the fact that it's Detective Stabler.

Just got back from the midnite screening.

I loved this movie. It was def. the best movie ive seen in 2010.

Phil, Nic Cage killed that role.

Hit Girl is my hero, she steals this film.
