Given that I live in Sweden this isn't really a valid option for travelling over the atlantic. Also if people who are below 6'5" could please not book the emergency seats I would at leats feel like I have a option.

In reality i'll probably do as I have to do on normal busses. I'll get aisle seat then toss my legs out there, given i'll have to move them around when people move and not sleep at all it's still better.

So yeah, even on like city busses here in Sweden I can't sit even close to normally. Like trying to sit upright isn't possible. I hae to turn my knees and almost lay down to fit at most seats.

Life is full of interesting ****!

how can you not sleep on a plane

im rarely awake on a plane

Kp,

I can sleep on planes so easily that I'm often asleep before takeoff and sleep til landing, often with just a quick break to grab a drink before going right back to sleep!

Lol. Would you give up your emergency seat for El D's 6'11" friend?

Do tall people never recline?
01-20-2014 , 12:24 AM
always been very jealous of people who can sleep in situations other than fully prone on a soft surface in a pitch black silent room
01-20-2014 , 12:25 AM
Next thing you know tall people will start bitching about showers not being tall enough.

I am seriously jealous. I can only sleep under perfect conditions - no sound (I'll often wear earplugs), no light (I usually wear a sleep mask), foetal position facing left. That last one is especially annoying since it would currently behoove me to sleep face down but just not possible.

Ohead,

Being tall has lots of advantages and a far smaller set of disadvantages. Having a ****tier time on planes is one of them. People deal with all kinds of real disabilities and somehow manage to get by, so can you. And if the only practical solution for you is certain seats, well, only buy tickets where you can book those seats!

I was a little worried he wouldn't be coming back, but I told him the local ****ty BK upped their game and put in a freestyle machine and now he seems pretty excited to come back.

There are often more than one, so yes I would. And obviously if I am of the mentality that taller should get the emergency seat then ****ing OBVIOUSLY would I do this?

This is not a fight for me to be worth more than you or anyone else, I am just trying to fly with some sort of dignity / respect to others here.
01-20-2014 , 12:28 AM
Nothing puts me to sleep like the push back of takeoff.
01-20-2014 , 12:28 AM
Ohead,

GTFO, no way you give up your exit row seat to the guy a few inches taller than you.

Yes I would. We freakishly tall people have a unspoken bond were we realize the **** we have gone through with society being made for fat short people these days. So I immediatly can relate to someone as tall/taller than me.

I am sorry if this is so foreign and weird to you that you can't grasp it or my posts give you a hint that I hate everyone in the world I am sorry. But thats the way it is.

And yes I would not be the least upset/irritated if I entered the plane after not getting the emergency exit-seats and seeing that a guy my height has it instead of me.

How is this something hard to understand?

Only in business class. In economy plus I might go back just a fraction if it's a red eye. Why? I'm not an ass.
01-20-2014 , 12:37 AM
Better question, do you always sit in the very back row of theatres / sports games / etc.?

Awesome.

It's ok, I can make fun of you because I have a tall friend.

At home I can only fall asleep in bed with these conditions but I can't think of too many flights I've taken without sleeping. Always walking onto the plane exhausted really helps.
01-20-2014 , 12:39 AM
Not only was ohead shot in the face, he's also very tall! What a rough life.
01-20-2014 , 12:42 AM
Ohead,

So how many times have you ever traded seats with a taller guy so he could have the exit seat?

I think you overestimate the amount of people who are taller than 6'8".

I have never shared a flight with someone taller than me. I would estimate that I see someone who is noticably taller than me like once a month or so. And I live in a pretty large city.

Sure you can strawman and take from my argumen that I should give away my seat on the plane to anyone who is classified as "tall" by western standards but I am pretty sure you know what I meant.

And yes I obviously meant that if a tall person has taken the seat BEFORE me on the plane I am not upset. ON THE PLANE I would need someone to be taller than me to entertain the notion. Also as you can get from my post its not always you get the good seat at all due to short entitled people who demand it before a tall person.
01-20-2014 , 12:51 AM
Still want to know if you switch seats with all the shorter people then you at events where height is a major advantage to you and an inconvenience to those behind you.
