1000 Ways to Die is almost all bull****. I got the first season on iTunes on sale a few years ago and the 'deaths' were often ridiculous and they obviously don't cite anything to prove they actually happened.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toba_catastrophe_theory

The related catastrophe hypothesis holds that this event plunged the planet into a 6-to-10-year volcanic winter and possibly an additional 1,000-year cooling episode. This change in temperature resulted in the world's human population being reduced to 10,000 or even a mere 1,000 breeding pairs, creating a bottleneck in human evolution.

agree this show is aids. i first heard about this show when fans were claiming that the stories were real. So i watched an episode and every death was fiction. This show has been ruined by its fans imo, and the producers who dont do enough to convey a fictional narrative.

Last episode I saw the one about the guy who went to the movie theater and felt a sharp pain when he sat down and in the back of the chair was a hypodermic needle and a note that said "Welcome to the world of AIDS" and 2 years later he was dead of AIDS.

...

Alright they haven't broadcast that one yet, but I think I'll submit it.

I heard about this years ago, but the story was a bit different—and I believe that further impugns its authenticity. I remember hearing that someone was putting thumbtacks dabbled with blood on the handsets of payphones so that people would prick themselves, and these also had a note to the effect of "Welcome to the world of AIDS." I remember hearing that no one was actually infected by them because the virus cannot survive for long outside the body, on a thumbtack or in a syringe, for example.

It was kind of a joke, it was a popular urban legend a few years ago and like most urban legends was just completely made up.

It appears that's the type of thing they run on that show now.

Indeed. I used to be pro-gay but this story is proof that it's an abominable sin.

LOL, what does the whole lesbian angle even have to do with anything, it's like you can make up whatever salicious backstory you want and tack it onto a regular death and make the show.

"Guy got a promotion at work, decided to get a dozen hot strippers to come over to his house, all of which had huge boobs, he partied all night with them. The next morning he got into a car accident a died."

ZOMG AMAZING DEATH STORY!

That's actually true. I know this one super crazy prisoner who did this to a fellow locked up Mafia boss. He pretended to be a good guy long enough to get transferred to the AIDS ward where he took a syringe full of a junkies blood who had AIDS. Then he pricked the Mafia boss' shoulder with the needle and that's all she wrote. True story.
