Tired of the heat discussion. I've heard "Hot enough for ya?" like 1,000 times the last 4 days. You know what, I actually don't mind the heat at all because I know the other side of the coin is those -20 days in mid-January. 110 is fine. Minus 20, **** that.

Nebraska, along with some other midwestern states really do get shafted though with the potential for both brutal heat and brutal cold every year. But schu is right, when it's 100+ at least you can still leave your house and do ****. Getting snowed in for 3 days in the winter is the ****ing worst. At least it was back when I lived in the midwest pre-internet.

I'm fine with friends posting legit links to donate to their charities but this is unbelievably annoying/lame:

Unless you're in the desert, 100+ is unbearable and I can't process the fact that people voluntarily spend significant time outside in it unless it's for work or something.

Only real thing a 100-degree day has over a frigid cold day is that driving conditions are unaffected by heat but can be by icy temps.

pennsylvania winters are pretty terrible too. i would take every day of the year at 100+ to not have to deal with any freezing cold days

I used to think this way to, but spending time in Canada made me realize that I can put clothes on and still go outside, but when its 110 out, there isnt **** I can do to be comfortable, and that spending time outside just isnt an option.

I live in central Washington where we have extreme weather. Too hot in the summers, too cold and snowy in the winters. I would imagine there isn't many places outside of southern California that have perfect weather. You just have to decide if it's worth becoming a liberal to do so.

This is a great point. The army should totally come in and spend billions of taxpayer dollars refurbishing remote outposts into clean and comfortable living quarters for our troops to spend 2 weeks in.

I mean "outside" in the sense that you can leave your house and travel to another air-conditioned place and do stuff. But yeah you can also do stuff outside. Aren't you a pitcher? I threw a complete game (2.5 hours - not 9 innings) in 100 degree weather a few years back. Of course we were facing a 35+ team and I was like 28 but still it was brutal but it's not like you can't perform if you are drinking like a gallon of water or more. Last week it was 97 and humid and I carried my golf bag for 18 holes. It was brutal but you can play in 100+ humid heat here if you are driving a cart without much problem. And I'm a pasty white dude with sunscreen caked all over.

I naturally way, way prefer the cold but when I lived in St. Louis it wasn't uncommon to get effectively snowed in for 2 or 3 days every year or two. It's really hilly there so sometimes driving almost anywhere just isn't an option and it can be so cold that you face starts cracking within 5 minutes of being outside. You literally feel your skin burning and drying out and cracking so you go back in after 5 minutes of building a snow man then take 20 minutes to disrobe and go crawl back under a blanket and watch terrible TV for 2 more days. lol.

In general though yeah cool weather is way way better than warm.

First time I went to Vegas it was hot and they said it was 108 and I thought it felt like 90 without the humidity. lol dry heat.* Also if you lived in Canada you must have gotten snowed in ever?

*Yeah I'm doing that thing now where "my heat is hotter than yours" lol

It's actually some kind of 5-hr outdoor activity, though. Which is really his point.
