Kind of hard not to romanticize that kind of consumption but Andre was a very unique individual. I often wonder how many of his drinking stories have been embellished, yeh he was 7'4 and 520 lbs but drinking a liter of vodka just to catch a buzz seems very hard to believe, maybe his medical condition affected his ability to consume the booze

Wow this thread makes me happy. I thought I had a drinking problem somewhat. I would say I drink on average maybe around 6-10 drinks a weekend. This number def changes though depending on whether I go out to drink (and if I have a dd) or just stay in. I might have 2-4 drinks if I stay home but drink much more when I go out bc I suck socially sober. I think I have a binge drinking problem though honestly because I drink a lot when I go out similar to college students. Another great topic is how much will you drink and stop drive. I tend to stay towards 2-4 drinks + time and will drive. Will say I've probably been over limit maybe few times but not crazy enough where I would get pulled over unless I got unlucky. I'll prolly get lold for this but it irks me when people say you shouldn't drink and drive. You can drink and drive if you stay under limit. I see nothing wrong with driving after 3 beers if you aren't a complete idiot

Probably have around 3-5 beers a year (usually with chicken wings or nachos )

Sunday/Monday are my night outs , but I rarely drink and when I do , I never have more than two drinks. (So maybe 3 a month)
And I usually get just one drink so I can babysit it

One wedding a year , where I'm almost forced to take shots/drinks. That's like a five drink day , and usually my biggest buzz of the year.

I usually have one week a year were I blow a nice % of my trading roll , a week of degeneracy will follow. About four drinks (half a bottle of franjelico), drinking will be the tamest thing I do.

So 5 + 36 + 5 + 4 = 50/12 = my number.

I don't look down on people who drink a lot , but I'm a little astounded by it , I have my other vices that more than make up for my lack of drinking.

Sleepy/tired people probably drive worse than people who've had a few beers. It's kind of scary how many times people actually (or talk about) how they've spaced out for seconds/minutes at a time while driving and think it's funny while looking down on people who drive after alcohol.

It's about avoiding interaction with the criminal justice system for me, not so much safe driving. I'm pragmatic that way yo.

It's not just about being a bad driver. It's intentionally/preventably making yourself a worse driver. People don't get sleepy on purpose.

It's just trivially easy to not drink and drive.

Driving with a healthy buzz is really fun. Maybe that's part of the problem.

Just to be clear, I don't drive after drinking anymore so I'm not trying to defend it. I probably did a few times in my early 20's.

I do think it is somewhat preventable being sleepy/tired, but even if it's not, maybe a cup of coffee or a quick stretch/jog before driving will wake you up, but people don't do that. Or you can cab it home just like you would if you had a few too many drinks. But people don't imagine that should be an option either. There's just a lot of things we can do to prevent being bad drivers, and acknowledging that it is just hard to enforce/promote those things compared to alcohol rather than going bat**** whenever someone says they drove after a few drinks might be better.
