True story, I once had a friend that liked to moan and bitch about his life every day on Facebook. He'd always text me saying he's depressed which I found quite funny, since like, why would I care?

Well anyway, one day he decided to send me a longwinded text about how he can't cope anymore and that he's going to kill himself. I thought it would be a laugh to post the message on Facebook and he calls me 10 minutes later fuming that I had "betrayed his trust" and I just laughed at him, told him that he was being a little girl and he shouldn't have sent me the text.

The point of the story is that once he realized he wasn't going to get the reaction he wanted, he stopped being so open with his weird behavior.

To be fair to OPs "distant acquaintance", he makes about the same (slightly more, I would argue) sense as creationists do.

Crazy as this is, I actually think he's coming down a bit. This at least has some kind of internal consistency, and is only one nuts idea instead of 18.
