He's a funny guy, but those are absolutely terrible jokes with terrible points. I mean, in one of them, he's going after victims of a mass school shooting ffs.

Sure. But he did it in a dead-baby jokes kind of way and also threw in a pinch of truth.

It's not like he singled out a specific individual.

The difference between dead baby jokes and what LCK did is that dead baby jokes are dark humor where it's sarcastic/obvious that the comedian doesn't really believe that babies should be put into blenders or stapled to trees or whatever. Here, it appears that LCK really believes that mass school shooting victims should not be listened to.

Also, he is very clearly referring to a few specific individuals, and even if he weren't, he's still making terrible jokes with terrible points by going after real life victims.

What is the pinch of truth?

This triggered generation really is the worst.

The show is a private affair between paying clients, and Louis. Nobody is telling you what you can or can't make fun of with your friends, or in your home. Louis fans pay to see him, they CHOOSE to see him. If they don't like a particular joke, they can choose to not see him next time. That's it. The end.

Deciding what others can or can't find funny is the nut low. And it becomes super dangerous because the bar will just get lower and lower. This is an all or nothing concept. Nobody gets to decide what is or isn't fair game in art.

Just watched Giraldo do a bit that had the line "Today I learned that no girl is too far for a tube top". In the context of the bit it was hilarious.

If the Parkland thing bothers you and you don't think it should ever be performed, do you know how easy it is to make the logical deduction that the tube top bit is also something that should never be performed because is degrades women (particularly fat ones)? It's literally there to be argued sanely if you think the Parkland bit is offsides.

I can't believe anyone wants to go down this road willingly. If you don't like something, don't like it. But don't decide if others can't.

rafiki,

I guess your mind is just not evolved enough to realize that managing your emotions should be everyone else's responsibility.

Your wife is a freak and very weird woman.

She can get that quality joke at any open mic.

I find this comment offensive and I am hurt! You must be banned!

lol see how much of a lil biatch I sound like? God let us hope the Chinese don't figure out that if they invade they'd take the continent over in 17 days. Well maybe not a few of those red states. Might have to skip around a few of those.

Or you could ya know.. Just leave and not ruin everyone else's enjoyment to satisfy your own needs. By this time it is very clear that the Cellar is allowing Louis to perform and 90% of the people going there are aware of this fact. If you go there expressly with the intent of ruining other comedy fans experience then you are at fault.

If you don't believe the Cellar should allow Louis to perform, then speak the loudest way you can, with your wallet.

Hell if you want, start a protest outside the club, but go **** yourself if you think that your personal feelings override the entire audience's and gives you the right to ruin every one else's experience because your feelings are hurt.

Also you're clearly not knowledgeable about comedy with your comment about a college kid at an open mic. The ENTIRE PURPOSE of the comedy cellar is that comics can go there during the week to work out new material. Expecting material of the same level as a polished recorded comedy special from an illegally recorded snippet of a comedy cellar set is just about as stupid as thinking it's ok for you to impose your values on a roomful of paying customers in a place where you KNOW it's a possibility someone you object to may be performing

Muh free speech though.

My response to a Louis sighting would be a loud **** you followed by walking out. I feel good about that approach.

The rest of the audience is allowed to sit there and listen to cheap laugh open mic jokes if they wish.

just simply lol at the hysteria over a work in progress set that is in exactly the same vein of his entire career.

it's worth listening to the whole thing, but you'll want to kill the guy sat near the mic.

sorry your free speech does not allow you to purposefully interrupt an artistic performance. That's Specifically why I told you to start a demonstration OUTSIDE the club if you wish. Ever hear of "you can't yell fire in a theater?"

Your right to free speech does not supercede others rights to enjoy a performance they are paying for.

ugh this country is doomed if more people think like you.

One quote that was attributed to Patrick Henry (but maybe wasn't him that I don't feel like researching on NYE) when I was in school went " I disagree with what you say, but will defend with my life you're right to say it."

Free speech is NOT the eradication of opposing thoughts, it is the allowance of them.
