I dont have much experience with Asians, but going from stereotypes and my understanding from others is that they are by far the most racist of all, with vietnamese prolly slightly ahead of korean.

I really only have experience with whites blacks and Latinos, and its each differently. Hispanics dont like blacks, blacks dont like whites, and whites are busy trying to act as PC and un racist as possible, so its hard to tell from observation who they dont like.

They don't like anybody. Even other white people. I probably hate white people more than any other race. I've only got a couple white friends, the rest are mostly Asian and Hispanic. They are way more down to earth to me and fun to be around. White people suck.

I'm white.

LOL , i would hate to have your view point on life. Most the people i know are great people, white or black. I dont know where you are or who you are around that you can say a whole race of people suck except for a select few, but im sure you are as pessimistic as they come and probably have a horrible view point on life, just existing miserably.

I think you are biased.

Somehow, though white as milk, I'm able to see the flaws of the white man (and woman)!

At my last job, I was mistaken at least once for almost every other male, asian employee (wide age range too).

I've also received a fair share of nice compliments about my English ability from strangers over the years.

Edit: I'd say Koreans probably top the racist list.

In my experience Asians, and Koreans in particular, are a pretty racist lot.

Some sports related racism:
-Playing football after getting tackled, and shoved in the helmet, "take that you haole!"
-Played some pickup basketball with Filipinos and they didn't pass me the ball the entire game, we lost obv (this has only happened once, I'm usually the only white guy there)

I'm a teacher and I get asked at least once a year by a student:
"do you know my former teacher Mr. So and so? You look just like him"
"no, why, cause he was white?"
"um..yeah.."
Then I laugh and tell them they just lost 10% of their grade

Edit: I agree with Koreans as well

I am white. Applying to law school as a white male is auto-discriminate.

He probably means that if a female or a minority male has the same qualifications as him and same grades ( or even alightly worse) they would get picked over him to make the choice that would make the school more well rounded.

Just like black males from high schools get full rides if they are really smart and get great grades , even if they are only semi athletic or maybe dont play sports at all , where as that seem student if white is not getting the full ride offers.

Interesting to hear of this Korean and Vietnamese racism. As a white dude, I had no idea. I can't say I can recall a time when I felt either was racist toward me. Maybe it's behind-the-scenes? I eat at a fair share of Vietnamese restaurants and go to school with over 10,000 Asians. Never really noticed bad service or anything. But the Asians all sit together in class, even if they don't know eachother.

I have seen Asian-on-Asian hate though. Back during my undergrad, my Filipino roomate was trying to plot something (back when you had to insert a $10 Zip disk directly into the plotter). Some Chinese girl tried to put her disk ahead of his "in line" and he called her out. She asked him "What country are you from?" "The Philipinnes". "Well I'm from China." LOL wtf?

I asked him wtf that meant and he said a lot of mainlanders look down on the islanders.

I just remembered my friend who is a minority got into a college I did not. We were very similar when it came to grades and extracurricular activities. I mean, I can't be sure, but it seemed like bs to me.

All East Asians are very racist. It's entirely possible Koreans are the most racist East Asian country.

My sense is that SE Asians are not as racist as East Asians. I could be way off on that.

I can agree to a certain extent, but I think that it's ignorant to blantantly say that certain people from certain regions are more racist than others without understanding their history, geography, etc.

Please try to remember the most "racist" countries are almost always homogeneous and had no exposures to diversity. I was amazed when I first moved to the US and saw a blonde white woman. That was a mind-blowing day.

tibrida - I mean, I guess what you're saying might be true of older generations, but today we have things like the Internet, and people travel to and from countries all over the world... so I don't think "no exposures to diversity" really holds anymore...

I don't think it's fair for you to compare the "diversity exposure" of the internet to actually living in a diverse environment. I believe that in order for someone to fully understand and appreciate diversity, they have to be surrounded by it at all times. Travelers may be more sophisticated regarding the issue but even then it's limited since they're not traveling long enough to fully understand the cultures.

Heck, even people that were born in the US still don't understand diversity. How can you expect the people who were born in homogeneous countries to have the same level of understanding on diversity as a native New Yorker (or any other diversity city)?
