While I loved the Protank for the first week or two, now I'm having problems. I've been using the Evod heads with it and I've been getting a somewhat gurgly/flooded hit. I've been removing about half of the top wick per advice elsewhere and they start off good but a tank or two later these problems arise. Is anyone else having this?

I bought EVOD heads and every time i get that gurgling I just put a new one in and once that gurgles put the old one back in and its working fine.

I've found the longer ones gurgle much less if at all and I prefer the hit.

Not a protank user, but when my tanks get gurgly I just do a little wrist flick to clear the excess liquid. Sort of a whipping motion with a bit of tissue over the mouthpiece to catch what's coming out.

i really enjoy the protank, although i feel the coils go really quick. i use one every week or so.

anyone get the protank 2 yet? any thoughts? if its a signif improvement i'm gonna go get a few.

I like that the protank 2 is completely rebuildable. You can replace each peice like the glass, etc. Feedback needed before purchase tho...

It's wierd, I had a gurgly Protank that I couldn't get a hit without getting some back wash and I went back a day later and now it's hitting fine. I can't figure these thing out. I'm thinking about going for an Itaste 16 or 30. Both seem to be good from their reviews

Everything "seems" good, but has some inherent flaw that justifies, for me, a reason to buy something new and shiny

Mini review:

Been using a Smoktech RSST exclusively for the last week or so.

It's my first rebuildable atomizer, not counting the vivi-nova which was a spectacular failure. So far, I have to give the RSST a firm thumbs up. I've run around 60ml of juice through it so far, and just gave it it's first dry-burn cleaning, and it's back to performing like new.

I was always into carto tanks before this because I liked the mess free simplicity of them. The RSST is every bit as convenient as the carto tanks were, but have the added bonus of an essentially infinite lifespan. It was very easy to set up and oxidize the stainless steel mesh, and wrap the coil. Nailed it on my 1st attempt.

The only downside so far for me is that the draw was a bit too tight, which I remedied by enlarging the airhole, and that the throat hit is a little bit lacking compared to the boge cartos. Other than that it's been tip top.

@mindsplatter: the nitecore is a great charger, and charges ni-cd batts too.

I've been away from this forum for ages, here are my current setups.

Spheroid and Leo (14500 mod)

Kayfun and Windrose mod

Hellfire Micro mega and p+ with hybrid adapter (p+ is bloody long with the standard cap but it is 18650)

I've moved back to silica atties pretty much exclusively now, I can't be bothered with the hassle of mesh anymore tbh.

The only rebuildable I recommend to anyone who asks is the Spheroid. Not too big, easy to recoil, fairly leak proof and easier to get hold of than most.

I don't know why you can't use those for dripping. i think they come with cartridges - i don't use them, i think they have some kind of resorvoir for liquid. You should probably get some drip tips if you are interested in dripping. With drip tips you have the option of putting drops directly through the mouth hole so you don't have to take the top off.

there is a good video on youtube about dripping. here are a few tips: put it on your batt and press the button briefly, you will probably hear a loud popping sound. tap the button several times to burn off any machine oil. you should see a little smoke. I usually stop my atty prep there but some people continue the last step long enough that they can see the coil turn red. I have burned out a couple of atty doing that so i skip that step now

add 4 or 5 drops to soak the wick, if any (some have a wire mesh instead of a wick) then vape. you may want to avoid inhaling, especially if you get a funny taste, it may mean you still have machine oil in there.

when you have vaped off most of the liquid from the first drops you can vape normally. with an atty the width of a normal cartomizer, 2 drops at a time is probably enough, do not exceed 3 large drops. enjoy.

i think it is the ultimate way to vape and is an essential tool for taste testing.

EDIT: oops, those look like clearomizers, forget all the dripping advice. you should be able to just screw the mouthpiece off and put drops down the side, it will soak through the ring on the top, if any.

I know that when those first came out a year or two ago people weren't happy with them. Maybe they work better now but I would be cautious.

edit: BTW, I don't think those are for dripping. You fill the clear plastic thing with liquid and the sharp pin in the center of the atomizer (the black part) pierces a plastic film letting the juice flow to the atomizer.

until i get this rba thing down cold i'll still use some dripping attys but i hate paying more than 5 bucks for them so i'll probably try one with my next fasttech order. they have such great prices on all kind of things, i order from them about once a month anyway and i love that they take paypal.

I have no interest in cigarette/cigar flavors. I've vaped fruit flavors exclusively for 2 years now.

I'm with you on that Bode. Maybe try the Liqua apple too, it's pretty good. The berry mix is still my favorite, the citrus mix had too much of a tangerine flavor for my liking. I also kinda liked (for the price) the Dekang banana. I have a few other Dekang flavor that I haven't tried yet.
