Crossing all the streams:

- Lots of people paying homage to Bob Knight refer to him as "Bobby" which, IIRC, he hated...maybe they are taking a veiled shot at a serial abuser while maintaining the appearance of being respectful.

- Picked up the Smoke Wagon Malted Barley Rye at Costco. It's real good, but probably overpriced.

- Home ownership is...something. I've developed an obsession with a glass shower + hard water staining.

- We got a total of 3 trick-or-treating parties. More candy for us!

one solution is to squeegee the glass after each use
another is to use easy off fume free oven cleaner

^^ for a one time use...a hammer.

If he hated being called Bobby, he thoroughly lost that battle forever ago. Feels like he’s been called that over Bob by at least a 3:1 margin for as long as I’ve been aware of his existence.

Zero trick-or-treaters last night.

I don’t know if that is a referendum on me, or?

I hope I’m not the cranky old man all the kids are afraid of. Their loss. I give out full size treats.

Funny thing, I wasn’t even home. They could have taken the whole bowl I left out.

First year I've ever been able to count them, I had 21. 36 candy bars-13 leftovers-1 I ate-1 little bastard took two=21 Trick or treaters. Our neighborhood blocks off an entire street 2 blocks over for party time, so I imagine that cuts down on them quite a bit for me.

I can't even remember the last trick-or-treater here that wasn't a little kid of a relative who drove them over. Maybe 30 years ago??? We quit buying a bunch of candy a couple of years after our last trick-or-treater, but my wife would buy some just-in-case candy that she knew we would eat if no kids showed up. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I don't miss them at all.

This was the 6th Halloween we've had in this house. First year for any trick-or-treaters. Three sets. Luckily we had some individually wrapped Ghirardelli chocolates in the house.

Congratulations to mark and any other Rangers' fans.

Had a few trick-or-treaters. Just barely got into the second bag of candy bars. Brought the remainder to the bar last night, I imagine they'll get eaten there.

I remember this odd in-between moment in life when I decided that I was too old for trick-or-treating - I think it was 6th grade - and since me and my parents lived in the sticks where trick-or-treaters wouldn't bother coming by, I volunteered to my oldest brother that I could stand watch at his house and give out candy while they took their kid out.

It was awkward when it felt like 75% of my own class came to my brother's house as I came to the door to dole out candy, invariably being left to answer them as to why I wasn't still doing it. I guess I overshot the "I'm too grown up now" by at least a year? But I would have still felt a little stupid about doing it at that point, so whatever.

The number of trick-or-treaters I've had come to my door for my entire life remains at zero.

I just love when a thread title tells you exactly what to expect from the thread
