Just looking ahead in my own unqualified mind, I see a time in the not too distant future where hospitals are already at capacity, with plenty of people already not being able to be treated on top of that, and people starting to become VERY paranoid about falling ill with COVID-19 because they know if they get it they will be absolutely ****ed if they get it bad.

Our gov't has royally ****ed this up, and all the normies just compounded it.

The number of deaths in the US has shot up dramatically in the last two days. If that's not just a reporting quirk (possibly due to people not getting tested until after death) then it looks like the number of infections could be doubling every 2-3 days rather than the estimates of 5-6 that I'd seen recently. Last night I estimated that there were around 150k total infections in the US, but now I think I could have been too low by at least a factor of 2. We might be just a few days away from hospitals getting overwhelmed in some areas.

Yesterday I called it living in the land of infection. This morning I imagined the Phil Collins video Land of Confusion (the one with the Spitting Image characters) done as Land of Infection. It works pretty good.

It seems likely the rest of the states will quickly fall.

This was an interesting article I read over a week ago and the predictions that were scary enough are being far surpassed.

It's a safe bet that there will be far more suicides by gun than gun related self defense incidents over the next year or so.

Two threads would be of great use and benefit. One, a doctor on here hosting and answering questions about dealing with corona, and two, a statistician interpreting and critiquing some of the numbers the news is putting out. Or do these already exists?

I would ask a pulmonary doctor can "swimming-type deep breathe and hold, then blow out aggressively" exercises (repeat, repeat, repeat for 3 minutes several times a day) before becoming ill, in strengthening the lungs can it make a difference later if you get corona and develop pneumonia? Or irrelevant? Must be a help but I don't know??????

BTW, I do this breathing exercise only when outside and completely alone, during walking, no one near at all, so as not to be sucking in potential viruses in home or around others, which would be massively counterproductive.
