Hey to people working at home through covid, how long is the expectation you will be home? I've been told upper mgmt is going to re-evaluate in October but I've been told by my boss to expect to be back in the office in 2021 possibly if we have a vaccine.

Just wondering if other people are working at home and how long it is expected? I honestly like working at home but its def odd to not go into the office. Its odd I have friends that are expected to go into work (one has his own office which is nice and the other is an underpaid govt employee lol).

I work for a fortune 100 company. They just announced mandatory WFH until Feb 1. They also cancelled plans of opening a couple of offices across the country.

I don’t expect to be back in the office in 2021 at all.

Very similar to my experience. Work for a Dow Jones company, they said don't come in no matter what until October 15, and you don't have to come in until January. Would be astonished if those dates don't get pushed further.

I'm in America but not a part of it that's currently a COVID hotspot.

I am working from home in Connecticut. We had a conference call last week and the boss announced they are thinking of having people come back at the end of August. I hope not, I can't go back with my health issues right now and I don't want to lose my job but it would pretty much be a death sentence for me if I get it. I also am the only one caring for an elderly person with major health issues so I wouldn't just be risking my own safety but hers. I might have to request a leave of absence. I also work for a place that has two sisters in charge and they have both called the virus a hoax. They have said openly that they are not going to send people home sick because if they came in to the office with covid it is already in the office so there is no point. When this first blew up and was all over the news and employers were being advised not to let sick people come in, our corporate office sent an email telling anyone who had signs of sickness to stay home. I work in an office with less than a dozen people, and two people came in hacking all over everything. Someone went to our boss and asked "shouldn't you send them home" and her reply was "you can't prove it isn't allergies, can you". They have zero concern for our safety and don't even try to hide it.

I am in day 3 of quarantine. Got tested Friday, will hopefully know something today.

I think it's more likely I have salmonella, actually, based upon my symptoms, but with my lung issues my doctor wanted to be super pro-active if I show Corona-esque indications.

I didn't have much cabin fever before, even working from home and only occasionally going out, but now I am definitely climbing the walls. Being told I CAN'T go out is somehow so much worse than being told NOT to go out.

As far as returning to the office I don’t think that’ll happen this year. I’m in Texas and my company is super conservative with stuff like this. They actually decided they don’t need as much office space and have moved out everyone from our office building out during this. Plan is to have us rotate and share and office and only come in a couple days a week. I think companies will realize something different and consolidate office space and have people working remotely.
