It's been said that we need to adopt social shaming in order to slow the spread. It;s also been said that 2+2 has been ahead of the curve in understanding the problem we face.

Shame on you Howard.
Finally some common sense.

All the ******s who just NEED THEIR DAILY WALK to KEEP THEIR SANITY can literally **** the **** off. You're all douchebags.

I have a nature trail near me with a dirt lot at the entrance for it. The other day when I drove by the lot was overflowing out onto the street with cars of people that just needed to get their daily walk in with 30-50 others. **** all those people Howard. Every last one of them. They are why this will go on longer than necessary and kill more than necessary.

On my way to work in the hospital this morning one girl pushed past me on the escalator, and nine people ran past me up the escalator.

The tube had a lot more people on it today and many not respecting social distancing - Including a homeless man begging walking through the entire train and stopping next to groups of people as he went.

Yesterday I had two people out for a run, run right next to me, heavy breathing while I'm just trying to get home from work.

I'm only leaving my house to go to work because I have an essential role in the NHS. I'm respecting social distancing and wish everyone else would please do the same.

I'm risking my health for the health of the nation, this is not a time to be selfish!

However, it sure seems like depending on the neighborhood - simply walking down a not busy street has to be basically infinitesimal risk - especially compared to say grocery shopping. Crowded trails or jogging paths seem very bad though.

Takeaways: Nuke the South.

On a more serious note, there are some things that are counterintuitive -- like large swaths of the midwest stopping travel early when you'd expect that would never stop in many counties given long travel distances to get to basic services like groceries. NY metro indicated as stopped relatively early, though there's the opposite situation re travel distances and who knows how the population traveling through NY is accounted for, etc
No need. We're nuking ourselves. Too bad we can't force all the governors to ride the bomb out of the bomb bay a la Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove ...

How have you not learned how posting works in all these years? You should be studied.
wells fargo has not been taken over by the government, nor have they offered their customers anything for free. they are simply offering a extension on an existing loan with deferred payment.

sounds a lot more like capitalism to me.

Does the site you use post numbers for individual states or regions? Seems like that would be much more useful info since states vary pretty wildly in how they're trying deal with this.
(Not asking you post every state obv, but I'd love a link if the data is available)

People are so desperately clinging to their beliefs. I believe we'll see empirical evidence to the contrary for the following after enough population data from the lockdown:
[ ] Fresh produce is necessary daily/weekly (my guess it's more like couple times a month)
[ ] Going outside daily is necessary (my guess is weekly)
[ ] Exercise is necessary (my guess is the modern conception of exercise is actually harmful, look at the packed physical therapists and sports surgeons, what is needed is much more subtle akin to meditation+stretching, but more subtle and more around developing efficiency of movement)
[ ] Waketime pegged to daytime (I think we'll realize our current understanding/conception explains maybe 1% of what's actually going on)

If you scroll over a state on the map it will give you infected and dead, and if you click state it will give you more in-depth details.

And penny, if you say politurd one more time...I don't even know man. I may just nuke you.

27,

I've not advocated joining the madding crowd. I thought the atlantic article someone posted had a reasonable take on the issue.

Howard,

Someone asked about thoughts on daily walks/bikes in their neighborhood. You said they are fine because LO AND BEHOLD you do them too and find them fine.

Lol,
