and that's about as good as the amount of wins you will hate to let them get from basically hunting to hell and back with my good dog bonham.
his name is jack but we call him nick, a son hard at work wagging tail at nights with a boogie beat,
you'll see him compete and fond of confidentially robbing a man and willingly dusting off his gold or brass colored band.

Yeah, on one hand I love the Melvin Udall character, and Nicholson did well with it. On the other hand he was definitely pretty much just playing Jack Nicholson. Nowhere near the same degree of difficulty.

A lot of acting is playing yourself well. Method acting and what not.

well, not sure what acting method you're referring to, but here's one example of what not to do to yourself in a play

I remember the year Jack Nicholson won for "As Good As It Gets." The buzz wasn't on Robert Duvall winning for the smaller earning film "The Apostle" but for an even smaller film winning the best actor award for Peter Fonda in "Ulee's Gold."

Bonanza is an awful show.

Is there some reboot out there that I'm unaware of?

No. I work in TV and one of the networks we produce and broadcast is MeTV, which airs old syndicated shows. At times, it’s literally my job to watch Bonanza.

Do you have to pay attention?

I think I tried watching Bonanza when I was 8 and lasted about 5 minutes.

Very few, if any, shows from the 60s and 70s hold up except for nostalgia value.

The Andy Griffith Show is pretty good as garden-variety sitcoms go, but you do have to adjust for era. With movies there's great stuff in every era, but with TV it has followed a clear upward quality trajectory over time where TV in the modern era leaves most of the old stuff in the dust.

When I was 8 I begged my parents to let me watch Bonanza. But that was when it was running prime time. Not really many choices back then.

I have a conditioned hatred of Bonanza. When I was ~13 y/o my best friend who lived next door would occasionally invite me to come over to his house to play games with his parents who loved card games and some board games, but they usually needed a fourth. They happened to own the busiest beer joint in town and would entice their son and me to play with them by letting us drink small quantities of beer while we played. Sunday was the most frequent game night since it was a relatively slow night at their business and they could both leave work.

The problem was that they also loved Bonanza which happened to air on Sunday evenings. No beer for my friend or me while watching TV instead of playing games! I hated sitting there waiting for that damned show to end so that the fun could start. Let the games begin!

I don't think I've ever seen an episode of Bonanza, thankfully. Golden Girls on the other hand runs near constantly on whatever tv gma happens to be sleeping in front of.

Huge fan of Beverly Hillbillies and Hogan's Heroes in the late 70s early 80s. Surprisingly the latter has held up better than the former for me. The characters in that show were perfect.
