Also discovered that selling on Ticketmaster for concert tickets (even though the fees are higher) can fetch much higher prices than market as some people must use them exclusively.
Craigslist really only works if you are selling for local events. I have come to accept the high fees on stubhub for MLB tickets because of the ease of use.

Theoretically I never have to leave my house or talk to another living person to sell through stubhub.

Are Rolling Stones a big money maker?

I picked up four Stones tickets, but doubt I make much and will probably just use them myself.

It seems like it's a good idea to watch videos of recent performances and check the fan reviews of concerts you intend to flip. I didn't do that with Puddle of Mudd and they are my biggest dud thus far... they sold 7 million albums and now can't manage to fill up a venue that holds 700.

What do you think you would be able to fetch for 2 upper level $1500 PBF/Pac tickets? I suppose these are as close to a guaranteed moneymaker as you can get?

Even,

Lol, Puddle of Mudd. Hope you have better luck with your Staind, Drowning Pool, and Limp Bizkit tickets!

I've never messed with sports tickets before, but it looks like I may have an option to buy Pelicans playoff tickets at face value if they manage to get in.

Is buying a no brainer?

I'm really curious to see what Floyd/Pacquio sells for. Has to be the highest ROI in quite awhile if you somehow get face value tickets.

Cheapest ticket 5K, most expensive ticket 47K on SeatGeek lol

I have determined that I no longer know what the **** I am talking about.

I have lost money of 5 of 7 baseball games this season so far (not including opening day) and am already down a couple thousand dollars for the young season…

Please disregard any and all advice from previous posts.

This is all.

I am shocked, SHOCKED that baseball games in April aren't big money makers for you.

Free tip, scalpers do better when people can't walk up the box office and buy a ticket.

On a happier note, the Pelicans managed to pull off a huge win against the Spurs to sneak into the playoffs. I pulled the trigger and bought 20 Pelicans playoff tickets. I flipped them in 3 days for a nice 30% profit. I probably could have made 40-50% but with the event date so close I was happy to flip them and be done with it stress free.

I would never **** with an event that isn't guaranteed to sell out. I'm sure there's money to be made in that somewhere, but I don't know how. Supply and demand is not a hard concept to understand. There's still plenty of money to be made in this market.

is there an optimal time frame to bid on tickets through something like flashseats.com?

I don't know how many brokers use it vs season ticket holders, but if i'm obviously just trying to get the cheapest seats possible, should i just rapid fire bids towards the start of the game?(they do have bid protection to where once one of my bids gets accepted, all others are void)

thats hilarious that the indians are so low. when i was in germany for the world cup, i met a scalper that said he made a living off indians tickets in the mid 90s when i guess they sold out forever.

and cavs season tickets woulda yielded a far better return than a future title bet even when the lebron news was in its infancy. proly one of the major life decisions that ive regretted the most. seemed so obv after the fact.

I feel you, my friend. I came back to this thread to also express my disappointment after a long and exhausting baseball weekend I've had.

Cubs-Padres game today was a nightmare. I ended up selling at a loss and eating some tickets because of the bad rainy weather in Chicago today. I overly reacted to the hype about Kris Bryant being called up to the majors this weekend. After seeing the news on Thursday, I went on stubhub and bought a bunch of underpriced tickets for the weekend series. Friday and Saturday prices went up like crazy an made some money but then Sunday I lost about half of what I made Fri/Sat due to bad weather (frustrating). Not to mention that I've been so focused on this cubs weekend series that I didn't pay attention at all to NBA playoffs and mistakenly priced some of my Mavericks playoff tickets on stubhub and now they are gone.

yea the indians have gone from selling out every game to actually removing 6000 seats this season

they also put in a thousand-person bar right inside the main entrance, are pushing walk-up tickets for the first time and now have those self-serve beer stations.

indians attendance is incredibly bad, even when they were like a game out in September they were pulling like 20k fans.

Those numbers are somewhat irrelevant. They show the number of tickets that were sold by the teams, most of which were re-sold for less than face value or not sold at all. They don't show the actual number of turnstile clicks. Go to any MLB game, look at the attendance number they show on the jumbotron then look around and see if it makes sense. Most of the time, no.

Thank you for that helpful nugget constructive of advice.

For the record, I regularly make money on April baseball games. I just made a couple of bad calls this year.

Sometimes it's just not as easy as it looks.

I actually stocked up on Friday and Saturday Cubs tickets too. I was really worried about Friday (forgetting that stubhub closes cubs ticket sales 6 hours before game time) when I was still holding a couple dozen tickets. Lucky I was planning on attending the game anyway to see Bryant's Debut. When I got to the park it was some what of a sellers market and I had no problem getting rid of all of my extras. Even traded a few to upgrade my seats and still made a nice return. Saturday I did pretty well too (about 20% return), first Saturday home game has usually been a winner for me in past years.

Remember its a marathon not a sprint. Good luck going forward.

Yeah, sometimes it's better when stubhub closes early since it shrinks the volume and gives you a better opportunity to sell. I ended up selling all my tickets Friday morning via craigslist without any problem.

I've been sticking to Saturday games since it's when people driving from surrounding cities travel to see the game. Summertime is the best time

Have you been able to purchase Cubs group tickets? I was able to grab some in the off-season but then when they found out I will be selling them they called me and said they will not be able to sell me anymore in the future

Keep an eye at the top right corner of the page where it says "xxxx Items" next to the turn page arrows. That's the number of tickets that are left. If that number goes down significantly then buying/bidding now would be the better option. If the number of tickets goes up or remains stable for days then it's better to wait it out as prices will likely go down. Supply vs demand. Good luck!

I haven’t bought any cubs group ticket in quite a while. I find that it’s usually cheaper to buy ticket for the cubs off stubhub early in the season and just turn them around right on the site.

Chicago’s “amusement tax” takes a big bite out of the margin, and most of the time - do to the extensive season ticket holder base – individual tickets are actually cheaper on stubhub.

But I appreciate the heads up. I’ve had other teams give me a hard time the year after selling me group tickets that I resold, but again if you can work around that with by using a different credit card with a different name and address the next year.

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question that I wonder if someone may be able to help with. I have 2 tickets for the Uefa Champions League Final in Berlin on the 6th of June but I am having trouble finding a platform to sell them on.

I'm in the UK and usually use Viagogo, Stubhub, Seatwave, Getmein or Ticketbis. Viagogo sent me an email asking me for proof I have the tickets, which I duly sent them but haven't heard back after a month (despite constantly chasing), Stubhub have a link that isn't live yet, Seatwave told me that they cant sell them for legal reasons and Ticketbis listed them and then blocked them a week later (legal reasons again).

I'm not sure if it's just because the laws are different for football (soccer) in the UK but if anyone knows a was round this then I'd be gratefull for your advice. I do have an address in Canada I could use if anyone knows of any North American platforms I can sell from?.........

Speaking of different cards and names, has anyone run into any issues with ticketmaster or live nation by going over the posted maximum tickets? I went over with flashseats (by2) and not a peep. There are times when 2 extra tickets are an easy bill...especially when they randomly pop up at a sold out concert.

It's been a while since I tested it, but about 15 years ago I had ticketmaster cancel some personal orders (Korn & Limp Bizkit) on me for going over the allowed ticket max. It caused me quite a bit of hassle which is why I don't really try anymore.
