Going to finish riding out the 20's while still in my mid 20's.

The old cliche about being as old as you feel is pretty much accurate - but when you're "young" you scoff at the notion.

Then you get "old" and realize you're "old" because you think and feel it, that for some reason things passed you by and you can't have them or have them again. In some ways its true - in many more other far more important things its the excuse of the lazy. They are the same ones who complain about their jobs and this or that.

Some people just have a higher WIM .... and they're the ones who turn 60 and go sky diving for the first time and the old married couple who dance the funky chicken on their 75th wedding anniversary.

I learned earlier this year that 30 is still considered in the "youth" category.

so yes, 30 is young and 31 is old.

If I knew at age 20 what I know now at age 30, I would rule this planet.

haha 30 was fine for me but man 31 brought some aches and pains and general decline.

I hate when I watch sports and the announcers are like "he's 33 years old now, you have to wonder how much longer his body will hold up in this league."

As long as Jamie Moyer is still pitching I kinda feel young, since he was playing in MLB for basically as long as I can remember. So I can't be too old, imo. Gonna suck when he hangs it up though, nobody from 1986 will be left.

I got Moyer's autograph in 1996. He was a 10 year vet and I was a kid at the time. I'm now as old or older than a good chunk of MLB players and he's still playing. That blows my mind. Not that I feel old, but it put it definitely puts age into perspective.

Damn, no clue who Moyer is but looked it up and he is 49 and still playing. That is impressive.

I'm mid-thirties and feel better than I ever did, b/c I used to party extremely hearty and also never exercise, and I play squash and lift weights now. I look pretty similar, but the only thing that scares me is that thing that happens sometime in your 40s, where your face kind of sags and turns into an old person face. I may have to murder a young person and make a dead skin mask before that happens

I'm 28 and feel like I'm old and past it already, I have a wife and 2 kids, things are tough money wise but thats because we're paying off debt from our early 20's when we were living our lives! Starting from end of this year / start of next year things will change, debt will be gone and we're gonna have a nice amount of money spare to do cool things. Wife has already said that we'll spend a week in vegas for my 30th, which is something i've never done before, so the first week of my 30's will be amazing at least lol

For me at least, it looks like my 30's will be better than my late 20's, my youngest will be older and more able to do her own thing like my son, leaving me precious time to read the papers on the weekend uninterrupted, start playing more mtt's, hell, getting more of the weekend back for myself and wife to wind down after the week, right now it feels like I get no time off at all, I'm either working or have a very demanding and CONSTANT 2 yr old to deal with!

I'm kinda glad though sometimes that I have had kids when I did, as I could not be ****ed in the slightest doing all this when im in my 40's/50's with acky joints and no energy! When I get to that age the kids will be off at uni, me and the missus will have moved up in our careers and will have the money and time to have fun together at the weekends again

I'm looking forward to getting old, because the kids will grow up, i'll have watched them turn into awesome, successful (in w/e they choose to do) people, and we'll be fairly well off and able to do w/e the **** we wanna do whenever we wanna do it.

I'm 24 but look like I'm 18. My dad is 51 and people always say he looks late 30's to early 40's, so hopefully I won't look my age in ten years. I find the act of getting older to be a great experience as I'm smarter, I understand things better, I make better decisions because I stop to think about consequences, etc. I feel like that'll change as I age, and I'm really dreading hitting the 40 year mark. That's a long ways away, but I've noticed as I get older the days/months/years go by wayyyy faster than they used to.

I used to think 30 was old and I planned on not getting married or having kids til then but if I don't have kids til I'm 35 that's fine with me. I don't want to make the same mistakes my mom and dad made as parents by bringing kids into the world without any financial stability and without a solid idea of how to raise children.

I'm not sure I agree with this. I think you are comparing yourself to the current old people and not the young people. In fact, the opposite is likely true. People our age are considered old sooner from the eyes of youngsters than how soon we thought those older than us were old. That's a terrible sentence but basically the difference in life quality of a newborn today compared to someone who is 30 is likely much greater than when we were a newborn compared to a 30 year old. Because advances are basically accelerating. Or maybe not, maybe it's all relative.

I think it's safe to say you are only as old as you feel.
People may say that 30 is the new 20 because the times have changed drastically in our world. People are going to school longer. It's taking longer to find a good job. A lot of people are not getting married until well into their 30's.
You still have people in their 40's still living with the parent or parents. lol
I am almost 50. Married for 26 yrs. 3 kids all in their early to mid 20's and I have 4 Grandkids who eat up a lot of my energy.
Yes there are days when I feel like I am about 20 yrs older.

One thing is certain. You should get out and experience life when you are young. You don't know how long you have here. Live it to the fullest cause it could be over in a blink of an eye.
