Isn't that thing supposed to charge like 50% in like 15 min or something ridiculous?

When I went to pick up my Note 4 all the employees in the VZW store said they were waiting for their Droid Turbos to ship. Was surprised to see so much support for that phone but I guess it's supposed to be great.

I've not gotten more after the first batch ran out either, not sure how they are allocating them.

New Calendar apk is out too, and it is so lazy. Not worth updating. I've been using the app 'Today' but does anyone have any better suggestions? I want decent month view widgets.

Lollipop APIs have been updated to allow easier, proper SD card access - non Nexus phone users enjoy.

Some people are reporting the back of the black Nexus 9 can be pressed inwards - i.e. it is not solid. Sounds awful. Quality control seems to be all over the place in general, and I'm well and truly put off.
Inbox works with your own filtering system as well or instead of their own filtering.

The ability to snooze emails (and reminders, but that also exists in other apps) to specific times or locations is great and I like the way it handles filters/labels in the 'inbox' than the main gmail (admittedly not tried the new one yet) or Cloudmagic.

Re the calendar, I'm looking forward to it's ability to automatically add events from your gmail (which seems to be server side but the new app let's you filter display these events so the main calendar display isn't spammed). So you get an email from work with a meeting or book a flight or someone emails you to go out together then behind the scenes it will add these events to the calendar in some way.

This, along with Google Now, is why I think it's clear inbox will be the future Gmail, which will change how people use email. They are chasing the concept of smart filtering and display of data bringing everything together when you need it often before you even realised you did.

Edit, try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...7NKYuoNoWBgZAH
for a calendar widget. Not my cup of tea but it's really pretty and functional. It just works alongside whatever calendar app you prefer

It's all a variation on something Qualcomm invented.

Your note 4 has adaptive charging, moto just called it turbo charging and LG has some other name I don't recall off hand.

Yes that's a nice feature, I agree. I'm a big fan of Google Now; I find it very useful/generally applicable to me the majority of the time.

I still think they've slipped up by missing some pretty major functionality in a core app. Maybe it'll get an update, though.

Maybe they will just roll everything into Google Now at some point..

Spoiler:

I hadn't looked at Month for a while so I'll have a look again, thanks. DigiCal is okay but I don't fancy paying for yet another calendar app (which the month widget functionality requires at a glance).

Anyone know of any key fobs that are nothing more than just a Bluetooth chip + battery? With the Trusted Devices feature in Lollipop and Motorola devices that makes it so you don't have to enter a pin/password when connected to specified bluetooth devices, would be cool to have a small, cheap key fob just for that.

I'd pay $10, heck maybe even $20, to never have to unlock my device but still keep it secure if I lose it or it gets stolen.

Just did some research, I guess that's what the Motorola Skip 2 is supposed to be? Looks a little bulky/expensive for my taste. http://www.androidcentral.com/new-ve...ted-fcc-filing

I also use Today as my calendar app, however, I use the Chronus calendar widget after trying a ton of whats out there. Simple while getting information I need at a quick glance:

Clicking month icon brings you into calendar of your choice, + adds event and pressing an event opens it in whatever calendar you want to set as default.

While we are discussing calendars, Calendar Status Pro gets my vote. I love being able to see the next few appointments in the notification shade given you can quickly look this up from any app really fast.

If I want to do more than that it takes no time at all to swipe it down, tap the persistent notification and then see what is in the calendar app. Which FTR I just use the official Google one which even with its flaws I think is best overall.

I tried Cal but for some reason couldn't get the feel for it. I think I didn't like the widgets and it wasn't super easy to add items.

I have it on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and have no complaints. At this point it's like nickleback in that people who've never even used it will hate on it because it's the cool thing to do. (don't listen to rock so can't say if NB does or doesn't suck BTW)

Quick question, what's the best Galaxy S5 case? I would like something thin (and hard material, not soft) , that the phone won't feel bulky. The thinner the better.

When I get back from work I should be getting the trentius case. I'll link it below. It's got by far the best reviews but I can't comment it myself. Only a combined 23 reviews 3 stars and below out of 1123 reviews.

I'm a huge fan of the Otterbox commuter case and have had one on every phone I've owned since the original Evo, but it might be a little thicker than you want. Don't have an S5, though, so I cannot speak to how it is on that phone.

I just installed this and hate it. It feels like it doubles the height of the phone and adds significant width to it combined with the hard texture instead of rubbery/soft which makes it nearly impossible for me to use with 1 hand. Maybe it's just not right for me, but I'm not quite sure how it got such high reviews...

Isn't that the situation with any case though? I never use a case for just that reason, I want my phone to be as compact as possible.

I'm not sure what you are referring to, but my thoughts on that case is it is simply too large in my opinion. I am able to reach just about anywhere on the phone if I hold it in 1 hand without the case. With the case on I struggle to reach halfway. People also mentioned that the buttons became super sensitive with the case on which I thought was an exaggeration. In the brief amount of time that I had it on I accidentally pressed the volume and power button countless times to the point of frustration. I went ahead and ordered this one below for $11 on ebay. I've heard it's a good brand and it comes with a screen protector. Hopefully this one suits me better.

Thanks for feedback on Droid Turbo.

Curious to hear more about it as I'm leaning towards buying it. Besides battery life & camera, the 3G RAM & processor performance looks impressive.

I've had the RAZR MAXX for almost 3yrs & pleased overall. Battery life good. Performance was OK but has slowed down significantly over past 6+ months.

I'm grandfathered in with unlimited data with Verizon so wont get subsidized price.

Keep updates coming.

Some Droid Turbo drawbacks:
- can't talk & be on internet (may be fixed at some point)
- no HDMI port
- no removable memory card

Its weird that the Turbo doesnt have MHL or similar capability. I wonder why they didnt include the hardware for it.

You can miracast and chromecast media to a TV, but that might not be enough for your use case, iono.

They're doing a software update before the end of the year to enable simultaneous voice and data. Has to do with Verizon rolling out VoLTE.

Pretty sure that the Turbo will be able to mirror to a Chromecast or other Miracast device. Might be part of Lollipop? Not sure.

Yeah no removable memory sucks, but at least the base model is 32gb and it's only $50 to upgrade to 64gb.

I've had the Turbo since Monday and I'm going to keep it. I absolutely love the nylon back, I can't kill the battery in a day (though admittedly I haven't reached the 6+ hours of SOT I expected), and I'm starting to get used to holding it. Also it looks like it's going to get the Lollipop update pretty damn quick.
