Would a winning cash game player be + ev at low stakes tourneys? Would a winning cash game player be + ev at low stakes tourneys?

If Im a winning 200nl player would I most likely be + ev at lowstakes tourneys? I know its a broad generalization and the game is different but yea pretty much I wanna start playing low stakes mtt's on the side ($10-$25 bi's) as Im a mass tabler and sometimes there arent enough tables for me to play. Would it be a + ev decision given I play fairly tag/straightforwardish?

also how big of a sample would I need to find out if Im +ev or not?

skillwise what could $25 mtt's be compared to in ring games?

The threads you make are kind of annoying.

yes generally so. i wouldn't personally play cash and tournaments at the same time if i was just learning how to play tournament poker because it's going to make you effectively half as efficient at learning during the session because you'll be thinking about tournament poker half as much as you would otherwise. it's like trying to learn omaha while playing hold 'em at the same time, you're playing two different kinds of games so your mind is going to have to switch back and forth and unless that's a simple switch for you already by knowing both games well it's not going to be easy to do and can impact your performance on both games.

I've seen decent cash game plrs not being familiar with adjusting their preflop shoving ranges to spr's. Although ur postflop skill will give u an edge early on, mtt's as a rule demand a different skillset and it is hard to make a comparison of opponent skill level.

I am against of mixing both at the same time as was mentioned in previous reply

to the OP

i think 25 buyin tournies would play like 200nl and above

reason being is, that for cashgames 20 buyins are adviced, so roughly 5k for nl200
and 200 buyins for mtts are nitty brm, but reasonable, lets say somewhere between nl100-200

altho i wouldnt recommend playing more then a few mtts at this lvl, because decisions are sometimes harder then in some random 1$ donkament

Pretty sure that almost any winning NL200 player will win in online "highstakes tourneys", which are the ~215 tournies, at least if they put even a bit work in.

It doesn't work like this. The required BRM doesn't directly correlate to the achievable hourly and even the less with skill level.
