Tbob went to the Isle, got drunk, played some poker. Then lost his winnings later playing beer pong with a stripper, but he was careful to call her a broad this time rather than a hooker. Or something like that. We may not hear from him until he sobers up on Sunday.

If you are very much a beginner, what guitar to buy very much depends what you're into. I think if you are going to take it seriously, you're better off playing music you really like.

Also, Budget is a major factor. You can buy guitars pretty cheap, or you can literally spend thousands on a guitar. All depends what you want/how serious you are.

I used to make my living in the music world, specifically as a Sound Engineer/Producer doing everything from Punk to electronica, but I did most of my work in clubs as an in house engineer with rock bands, and some small stints in a guitar shop.

Let me know what you're looking for (and as I'm a forgetful dumb ass) and where you are based, and I'll see if i can direct you somewhere decent.

Never saw the tv episodes, but I loved the movie Serenity! Was the movie true to the show or a letdown for the tv show fans?
