To keep low content posts all in one place so the forum isn't cluttered with them.

I believe it's 30 minutes, but the software tells you when you try to sit again. also, I'm sure it's on their website somewhere

Edit: Also, does logging out and closing the software then starting it up again make you able to rat-hole ?
no. And you probably don't want to ask a lot of questions like this on 2+2, people around here have a dim view of players who don't want to play as deep as possible.

depends a LOT on the fish.

If they are loose and call too much postflop, you can open up preflop, within limits. You don't want to play trash hands, but hands that make top pair, good kicker gain value against opponents who will lose a lot with top pair, bad kicker or who will call big bets with bad draws.

If players are really passive, you can play a lot more speculative hands hoping to draw cheap and get paid when you hit.

If people are just a little loose preflop and postflop, you mostly just tighten up and play ABC poker, planning to win good pots when you have a good hand, and not relying on fold equity or bluffs.

This is a very general question, so I've given a general answer. Adjusting to opponents obviously gets a lot deeper than this. Look at the strategy forum for the game you're playing.

I've been wondering about this one for a while now and I searched around and haven't found a definitive answer.

In PT3 you can see your winnings graph split to non-SD and SD lines. If my non-SD line is several BB/100 in the negative, is that a problem at all? Because I'm winning overall (small sample size so far).

No, don't worry about that at all, especially at micro and small stakes. It's a bit of an artificial stat since it can be manipulated by playing in a way that would definitely be bad for your game. For instance, the easiest way to get your red line to go up is to bluff every river.

The reason i ask was because I was playing 8 buyins deep on a 6-max PLO table with one guy being as deep and the like 3 other guys 2-3+ buyins deep.
Omahahahahahaha

Doesn't the red line only count wins? If you tend to bluff a lot at the river, especially at the micros, that only ends up being a losing proposition.

The red line only counts non-SD hands. Bluffing on the river can only help your red line. If your bluff works you win the pot and that improves your non-SD hands. If you get called you lose, but it doesn't affect your red line because there was a SD. Trying to maximize your red line can lead to poor play (like bluffing too much).

hello

topic: Hand history

do you know of any hand history site that datamine tournament hand history

would love a site that would be legal to use

I have tried hand HQ but they only record cash game

i do not need players to be named though as primarily want to validate some theories on the game, i want them for statistical purpose
the best thing would be a few million hands recorded in turbo SNG at low stakes as it will show more different strategies but would not mind higher stakes

do you think it exists

You can usually find out here:

**OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***

If not, there's usually other threads in the Internet Poker forum.

Hi,
What's the easiest method for identifying the nuts?

Until I've played enough hands that I just see it, is there a step by step way of eliminating possibilities? Like: look for a pair on board, if no, look for 3 suited cards ... etc

I'm sure I could figure something out, but why reinvent the wheel.
Thanks in advance,

To evaluate the nuts, you should look for suited cards before you look for pairs on the board. DUCY?

Seriously, all it takes is a little bit of practice, and a knowledge of poker hand rankings.

Keep in mind, though, given a five-card board, you can have an unbeatable hand that is not necessarily the absolute nuts for that board. For example, if you held AK and the board was AAK94, your aces full of kings could not be beaten by anyone else's possible holding, even though the best hand for that board would be AA for quad aces.

I copy/pasted this from a thread in ATF.

Green = a regular mod, who has jurisdiction only in forums where they are listed as a moderator.
Orange = a super moderator, who has jurisdiction over all of 2+2, I think. My understanding is that they can clean up spam and horseporn and stuff anywhere on 2+2, where a regular mod can't do that outside their forums.
Red = An administrator. They're in charge of 2+2.
Blue = Someone who represents 2+2 publishing in some capacity.
Purple = Not a mod. People get turned purple for winning a contest, etc.
