It depends on the game you're playing, what the stakes are, and how many other people are at the table.

What he said, in addition 505 hands is way too small a sample size.

I agree, although I think you might be able to glean some productive information about VPIP.

But, yeah, sample size.

Also, OP, take a look at holdem manager or pokertracker. You can trial them for free.

Man, I wish. Except I guess it would catch on pretty fast and that'd be it for the games.

What is up with these?

[ ] something
[ ] something else
[x] something else

I would assume that the checked one is the one they support, but it rarely makes sense in that context. ty

It's the ratio of your stacksize to the blinds + antes. It's used in tournament play.

M is the ratio of stack size to blinds+antes.

It's a tournament term that quantifies how "desperate" your stack size is.

Quick question about withdrawing money...I opened an account on Carlos Poker (iPoker) and my friend transferred $100 into my account. I have been building this up...my aim is to withdraw it once i reach $1000 to another site with a good rakeback deal. I realise that i have to actually deposit money before i can withdraw this but is there a Min that i have to deposit to withdraw the whole thing? ie can i deposit $100 and then take out $1100? Thanks for the answers

I've found discussions of buy-in amounts for no-limit games in the forums. However, I'm planning on going to Caesar's AC soon and want to buy into either a $2/$4 or a $3/$6 LIMIT game. On pokerstars and fulltilt, a buy-in of $80-$100 seems to put you near the median for a LIMIT table at those limits, even though it would be way too low for a no-limit table. So, will I be telegraphing the fact that I'm a live-poker noob if I buy in for $100 to start?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not really sure how to answer this. I don't play many tourneys, I'd assume it's not that important and people play differently on different blind structures.

You can try asking in the MTT forum.

You're probably going to have to contact the site on this one. Maybe check their Terms and Conditions.

No, you'll be telegraphing that you're a n00b by sitting at those tables. That is, everyone else is a n00b too. Don't worry about it.

I'm guessing nobody here has heard of it. Try the Software forum.

Lol. Okay, so sounds like the amount is not ridiculously inappropriate. Thanks!

Yeah, people buy in for all kinds of amounts, limit or no limit. Especially small stakes.

Hi Guys,

I have asked the following question in several other forum's and never recieved an answer so now I am thinking it is a dumb question, hence why I am here, so here goes.......be gentle with me

I have just bought, downloaded, and set up HEM on my laptop, I did this with the help of the FAQ's on the HEM site and I am now using it with PokerStars.

I have never used HEM or PT before so to get used to it I am using a small amount of stats to start and they are:

VPIP, PFR, AGG, Hands, C bet, & Fold to C bet

The HEM site was not very helpful when it came to setting up the player pref stats, for some reason I could not get the video's they suggested watching to work.

However I belong to Deuces Cracked and DJ Sensei has a short vid on there explaining player prefs so I watched it and copied what he suggested, now I do not doubt DJ knows what he is talking about, his other vids on there are great but I would just like to understand how he got to the numbers he used against each stat.

My main concern is that if I decide to use a stat that is not in the vid what numbers do I use???

Is there a basic guide out there on what numbers to use for certain stats, do all of you out there use pretty much the same numbers, or am I being really dumb and do not understand what HEM does???

Thanks in advance guys

Mike

I'm not sure what you mean - Do you mean the colour coding used to highlight stats?

That's completely optional and totally up to you. All the colours are there for are to help you identify and categorize certain players. And it's going to vary greatly by game type. 6-max is different than full ring is different from STT is different from MTT.

Since you're British, I'll use a soccer example - How many goals per game would you say a good striker averages? Now, how many goals per game does a great striker average? So on your pre-game lineup sheet, a good striker is (say) orange and a great striker is (say) red. You want to highlight this because you're going to have your defense play differently against great strikers.

Now I have no idea the difference between a good and great striker but presumably you do. And if I started getting into soccer I'd know pretty soon too...

It's the (or one of the) best cards you could hope for.

Yes - It's the card that completes your hand.
