So I'm looking to get a cheap laptop from a good computer warehouse near me.....it's the sort that is no frills, no customer service beyond getting what you want off the shelf. It's prices are great (compared to other local aussie shops, not eBay etc) IF you know exactly what you want

I have a PDF pricelist, a few basic requirements for the machine and a budget but no clue about what specs are good specs

If any of you know your **** and would be able to take a few minutes to have a pm convo, let me email you a pricelist and tell me which ones I should consider then please pm me.

Don't get a single core processor; don't get less than 4gb of RAM; don't get one which has a physically big screen but a low resolution for that screen size; don't get one with a crappy backlight that is unevenly lit and looks bad from narrow angles; don't get one with a crappy keyboard that is hard to use; try not to get one without an HDMI out; and if possible get one with at least one USB3 port on it.

90% of what you need to know about buying ANY laptop in 2013. About the screen and kb, you may have to check reviews if they have no product on display. The rest is read and compare.
