@tda not a fan of over betting OTR in H1. How many 2P or sets to do bet on the turn? And you have a lot better hands to do this with that block his calling range.
Is always folding low PPs to a 3bet preflop a leak? Or should I include some in my light 4bet range? Or maybe even flat and barrel flop if no paint hits?
hey guys! started playing NL2 6max recently, just 1 question. when do pokerstars deposit in the FREE20 bonus that i deposited with? i deposit $20 and was told i would be getting an extra $20 but i haven't seen it yet.
btw anyone here interested to let sweat me for abit?
Happy to GII in there, need to fade some rivers probably, but still happy.
Having a hard time responding properly to getting c/r'ed on pretty dry flops while holding middle/top pair. ANy advice for scenarios like these?
Ye learn how to construct ranges it's not hard just time consuming.
J9o is probably an easy enough fold in that scenario but ye that's one type of flop that is reasonably rare so probably sort your ranges out on more frequent boards first. Which although you think you play well you probably don't otherwise you wouldn't be asking the question you did.
I was kind of lying anyway it is really hard, I meant just really basic stuff. But realistically you want to make sure you have a solid grasp on lots of the basics maths of poker and basic concepts and then read up on like c-bet concept of the weeks which is probably the best starting point to get into it.
Thinking about our ranges is sooooooo important.

We have almost no equity vs pretty much every value raise in his range (which I'm assumign is most of villains range anyway), villains bluffing range assuming he's thinking has lots of equity against us. We don't have any turn cards that we like, lots of turns we dislike and very few we like probably leading us to make more mistakes later in the hand. The last reason usually shouldn't be a reason to fold, but there is no harm in it as long as we mark it and think through the spot later.
This is probably one of the weaker hands that we cbet too, so we're not going to be exploitable by folding (most likely).

fold unless you have high implied odds( i.e. villain is a fish or huge nit). You can widen to 77/66 on the button vs the blinds though IMO in most cases.
i'm guessing(haven't done the maths on it) you shouldn't be folding any 9x here theoretically since our range is so wide on the button but like MMSS said he has value a lot here and its going to be very difficult to play so exploit him but folding.
Thanks Gamma, was just wondering because I had a couple of those situations not far apart, but my thought process was right Agree with widening on the B vs blinds

Another frustrating day. Down just over half a buy in. Lost a stack with AA, got sucked out on a few occasions, and found myself getting 3bet a lot when I didn't have the goods. Oh well. Half a buy in is better than 2!
Also a frustrating session, although ended up breakeven-ish.
Had one fish 100/68/68 3b over 30 odd hands.
Kept open or 3b shoving 100bb.
I folded a couple of times to his 3b shoves - AJs and TT I think.
He was called twice by AA and he had AJs (open shove) and 83o (3b shove )
Anyway, more interesting stuff.
1. Attempt to increase my post flop aggression. Good spot or no?
His sizing is a bit telling I think.
fold, fold, CO raises to $0.15, BTN calls $0.15, Hero calls $0.13, fold
Flop:($0.50, 3 players) K 4 3 Hero checks, CO bets $0.36, fold, Hero calls $0.36
Turn:($1.22, 2 players) 6 Hero checks, CO bets $0.87, Hero raises to $2.30, fold
Spoiler:
Hero wins $2.84
6. Gah, kicking myself for only getting one street on value here. Should have bet flop, but he was calling almost every cbet and if turn hadn't been a 5 I'd be c/fing I guess.
Not been doing too well recently. Finished down another 1.5 buyins today, although I did mincash in a freeroll tournament so I'm only down 0.5 buyins.
No major big pots lost, but not many won either, and the blinds just slowly ate away at me. I've switched to 6max from full ring as the traffic on 888 is crap at 4nl FR. Seems like there's just as many fish but just never really got many good hands, and when I did always seemed to miss the flop.
Ye I dunno, he probably has to call there because it's like the best hand in his range I'd imagine. It's quite funny that he's gone into x/c because he blocks the NFD and then convinced himself that you're likely bluffing with a missed draw even though he blocks a lot of your FD combos and the board ain't that drawy.
Anyway going to try and play 300 HU Hyper SNG's today. So I've got 24 hours. Will probably update every hundred or so, get 100 in at least before I go bed I think.
Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with A K 2 folds, CO raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.35, CO raises to $2.70, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.35
