Shini a lot of the stuff in here isn't HH stuff, that's usually posted in the uNL forums. That said I'll be nice and toss my 2 cents in. For one stats would help, posted hands out of context is making it guess work.

First hand is pretty standard vs most players but I could find a fold against a super passive NIT I guess. His flat PRE is terrible unless you were super aggressive. Looks like you just ran into the top of his range, standard run of the mill cooler.

The 66 hand I'd be cbetting against most opponents but stats would once again help. The board is somewhat coordinated but it misses most players hands and a cbet is prob profitable. Bet flop, c/f turn to aggression, I'd always be getting it in on that river.

QJ, welcome to reverse implied odds 101. This is going to happen when we play tricky hands OOP sometimes. I'm guessing you ran into AQ.

The A9 hand is terrible unless he was a total spewtard maniac. Why are you 3betting it from the BB? I'm quite sure it's not profitable to play A9o OOP. You have TPMK and a gutter. Why blow off the rest of your stack when you should of just folded pre?

The last hand is just bad all around. I'm not usually 3betting the flop but I guess you were doing it for hand protection? It's an odd line to take for value. Really odd hand that I don't think I'm ever shipping it in on the flop.

With all that said, there may have been reads involved that make all my advice pretty off base but the last two hands don't really look good at all.

Bad session this morning. Went down to like $20. Got tilted, and took an hour break.

Now I am a table with some of the worst players I have ever seen and in like 15 hands Ive gotten my roll up to $25

Played 400 hands @ NL100. Folded Top trips Top Kicker in a 3 way all in and of course, I had the nuts. I cost myself an easy $300 pot there. I couldn't see 2 people stacking off with less but of course, they do.

+$125

roll: ~$1,100

dropped 2 stacks today, with a combination of piss poor play, tilt and having too many thoughts going on about teh pokah stuff all at the same time.

i just couldn;t decide what to play, what settings to have ninja and pt set to, how many tables to play etc. took me too long to realise i was being a plum and it was only after i opened 5 $5 DoN's that i caught myself.

br down to $220.

Fine line between aggressive shot-taking and reckless/nonexistent BRM, I fear. Even if you're only 1-tabling, you could find your 11 BI gone in 2 seconds imo, so be very careful & drop down in a hurry if need be, unless you're totally okay with redepositing, in which case, your BR is actually bigger than $1,100.

Current Stake: 2NL (buying in for 5)
Site: PokerStars
BR: $68

Goal: Short term: Get 15 BI for 5nl, move up to that, 15 bi for 10nl, then work towards having 30 for 25NL. Long term (by end of year), I'd like to be at 100 NL - 200 NL

Last night was disgusting, went from $500 to $220.
Then i took a bath, and went for some air then i came back and won $240 without a single loss heads up, so 12 BI's straight which i think is the most ive ever won.

Got me back to $460.

Today ive been even, tilting from lots of stupid stuff but currently on $480 just trying to get to $500.

Also put in a good load of VPP lol, but ive been break even so really ive lost becuase of rake which is a pain in the ass.

Looking to play 50NL fully by Febuary.

Im planning to deposit $500 and buy Holdem Manager and moving up to 400NL till 31.12.2010

Plan of Attack
Firstly, bankroll sits at ~$100 currently. Move up with 20buyins, move down if I fall below 15buyins. Stick to cash games until further notice, but I want to grind out and move up to atleast 10NL before I start messing around with SNG's or 6max or other games.

Secondly, Stars bonus is too good to pass up and Im pretty confident on being able to clear a decent amount of bonus with the volume I can play over the summer holidays (I go back to uni in March so heaps of time to play outside of work). Ive calculated that I can clear about $75-$100 of bonus, but can reevaluate at the end of each month whether to deposit more or less, I will spread deposits over the 60days, with a month between each deposit (so deposit on day1, day30, day60).

Important thing with the bonus is to keep track of my roll and keep what I deposit seperate, as that extra money shouldnt lead me to move up (as I will be outside of my skill level). I will grind out the levels on my own, not using the deposits. As soon as I can, I will withdraw that money to avoid temptation of doing anything silly.

Updates to come on how Ive done since my last post in the Part 3 thread.

But it is only 4 bis at 25nl so if I win them back I will withdraw my $100 and if I lose 4 bi at 25nl I will withdraw $100 and move back to 10nl.

Anyone else take advantage of the new year bonus?
Ran hot today and won my deposit bonus money back so I will be withdrawing and trying to stay at 25nl with 20 buy ins.

bought into the .10 multi, didn't rebuy or add-on on tilt and cashed for 2.20 and made a few bucks on the cash tables. Tilt at $16.25, stars idle at 5.74.

Swoosh you know if you withdrawl it will cancel out the option to deposit more? Unless you put the full 600 on?

BR-409

Tossed 3 buy-ins on stars so I wouldn't forget and not get the bonus. Gonna start my second session of the new year soon.

Haven't been much of a poster on the beginners' forum but just couldn't pass on this thread. Go easy on me please.
Current Stake: 10NL occasional 25NL 6max depending on my overall mood
Site: Stars
Bankroll: $400+ robbed my roll for a few unexpected events during the holidays so haven't decided on how much I am going to reinvest.

Plan of attack:
January = exam session aka no poker. Focus on getting exams done asap and then get crackin' on 6max again.
Video games will be zipped and not opened till I am satisfied with my grinding.
Get active on 2+2 & DC(again). Really stop wasting my time on useless stuff.
Spend more time in strat forums reading/posting. MORE work with stove and HEM!! Get around 2-3 hours of 4tabling daily.

Hope big things from myself this decade and this post is a start to it all.
Yes we can!

Will keep ya updated.

Yea i might wait, but I really don't see myself putting anymore money on. I already felt bad depositing that $100 ha. I'm satisfied with 25nl and will just grind that for awhile.

I wish we had all withdrawn our bankrolls before new years like you said ha.

Was going to play today... played 17 hands, realized I wasn't into it... and quit for the day... I might put in a session or two this weekend if I'm feeling into it.

BR-381

Some days you just have to know when to quit. When you're running 3 buy-ins under-ev it's time to take a break.
01-02-2010 , 01:37 AM
BR - $64

Sounds like a lot of us are having bad starts to the year. First day of the year and i'm 4 buy-ins down. Hope this changes soon for me and everyone else.

I thought of doing this as well. I waste way to much time on them but they are just too good a stress reliever when you drop a couple buy-in.

Good Luck with the exams though.

Bad start to 10nl - Nothing is going right - QQ<22 and a heap of other bad beats.

*Edit* Tilted and flipped a few times - Lost most flips

Bankroll - $787

Will be back grinding 10nl later - Need to blow off some steam.
