I deposited $50 last march on FTP and just hit $460

Mostly from bonuses that they run. Deposit bonus, Take 2, the recent holiday hundred etc

Takes a while but its doable.

Mine started from a deposit of $10 back in August 2008

Hmmmm .... is RPM usually this soft at 25NL?
01-10-2010 , 11:09 AM
small sample size at 25nl.. but 10nl certainly is.. and I see some of the 10nl "regs" playing 25nl often.... and they are pretty lol bad. Most of the site is pretty weak tight, but I've had to switch my game up a bit... not as much iso-raising.. more limping trying to play for stacks post-flop because the good tables are a lot like a live game, just with smaller pre-flop raises..... no one is folding, no one is 3betting/4 betting light.... it is an adjustment from the games at stars/ftp, but if made correctly, games can be raped post flop.

Back to your question, from what I've seen at 25nl, the players are pretty bad.. I played some 50nl after I won that mtt last month and had a good br to back it up on other sites.. and I found the play at 50nl to be similar to a tough 10nl table on stars/full tilt.
01-10-2010 , 11:18 AM
hey stop invading merge 25nl guys! :P , there's only 4 tables as it is most the time, don't want you guys denying the donkeys a seat

Thanks for all the replies about your initial deposits, Now I don't feel so stupid for trying too work my way up from $50

got a small question on this hand, don't think it's interesting enough to post a thread on but might get some valuable info out of it from you fellow BR grinders.

villain: 80/5/1 over 25 hands

Poker Stars $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BTN: $5.00
SB: $3.62
BB: $11.44
UTG: $6.28
MP: $4.91
Hero (CO): $5.70

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with 9 Q
1 fold, MP calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.20, 3 folds, MP calls $0.15

he limps, i Iso raise him. pretty standard imo, the holding is quite marginal i know but he's calling dominated 9's and Q's imo, plus i have position on him.

Flop: ($0.47) A J J (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks

could have CB this board, decided not to, for no real reason actually except for more CB respect later, but this guy does not think so does not matter for this villain.

Turn: ($0.47) Q (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $0.20, MP calls $0.20

turn a Q, bet 1/2 to get value out of his weak pairs and weaker Q's

River: ($0.87) A (2 players)
MP bets $0.45, Hero folds

now he leads river, this is weird imo. i think he'd lead an Ace on the turn, and small PP's are checking hoping for a cheap showdown. also Q would not do this imo, because if he thinks his Q is good he'd lead turn not c/c imo. good fold?
01-10-2010 , 11:48 AM
oh and i run gooooot: 172-186

this hand was the best of the session, hitting a runner-runner freeroll is great.

Hero bets $3.37 all in, CO calls $3.30 all in

Turn: ($10.07) Q (2 players - 2 are all in)

So today HAS to go better than yesterday right? Woke up in a much better mood and a little more optimistic today.
01-10-2010 , 02:35 PM
Went back 45 mans decided that I need to put in more volume or else I am just joking myself so the past 3 days I have been running really bad but have kept at it

Roll: over 1k again (finally )

Goals: move up to the $6 games, not get soul crushed, put in some good volume
and... profit

yea good tune i'll give ya that much... not even a fan of the hardcore trance stuff but its pretty sweet for the grindin sessions i'd say!
01-10-2010 , 03:06 PM
sick volume iampro. You've played more in 3 days than I have in January What's your MT ratio?
I had 8 FTs going at once this morning and it was mayhem
I think fading the bad times in these things is harder than actually beating the games but no need to worry about that at the mo

So $421 1005 FPP $9.24 Stellar $14.71 reload means Vegas fund is at $460.95 nearly a third of the way there

icewolf what are you going to do in Feb? 45-mans? No money in them imo

too bad he's been on a downswing for the last couple of years. you can find a couple of real gems amongst his older productions. thanks heaps the nostalgia.
although you should probably search for more ambient stuff while putting up a grind imo.

I was actually worried about that lol, **** like this happens (I can't find the HH)

5 handed; I have KK tied w/ another guy for chiplead (we both had like 20k+), everyone is small like btwn 8k & lower, and were blinds pretty small like 600/1200.

He opens to 2.5-3x w/ AQ and I snap shove obv and he snaps calls! lol

i don't think you're beating much here except maybe if the guy thinks you have nothing and his K-high is good, but most of the time i think he shows up with a hand that beats you-- any ace, any jack, any decent queen, or KT.

It's definitely not stupid to start from 50 as a matter of fact my "take cash games hard" started with 40 dollars but that was still at a time when i did not get to put in hours daily. That was around last april and did not play summer so i started grinding again in september and starting october i moved to 10NL by 2nd part of november i was at 25nl because i put in reasonable amount of hours in that 1.5 months. If you have the persistence and some tilt control it is definitely doable. Ask around in forums, post hands, dont be shy to get involved and soon enough results are in.

Peace.

i watched my first DC video today, took some notes on it then played for about an hour and half. max 2 tables at the same time but was chopping and changing all the time to make sure the villains were in the right seat according to my position, so all in all i sat at 9 tables during that short period!! jees, working at poker is, well, ummm, hard work!

quit for the day when i misread that i was chopping, and focus was waning. need to do that more, becuase prior to that i was concetrating and making good decisions if i do say so myself. no tricky spots for moi today.

anyway, posted a winning Sunday session at last fu sunday weirdos, i have your number now

Spoiler:
sample size ftw

yay gl just don't get downhearted if you start badly, these things are shark tanks

If my reload had gone through Jan 1 I would have $33.55 reload $16 in VPP and $9.24 Stellar on rake paid of $122. 48% total 'rb' as Silverstar. In a format that only rakes 8.3% to start with.

tyty... I won't have massive volume.. I only 3-4 table right now (although maybe later in the year I'll be able to focus better once I have a better desk and a new/2nd monitor) and I'll only be playing them on the weekends... but I think I can do well enough, esp once I hit the 180s, to get my total decently high for the summer.
