Here's my stats so far for MTTs but I'm not sure if 48 is a good sample

48 MTTs is no way near a decent sample.

You can take a shot though.

What sample size should I be looking at? I think I might wait to take a shot until I have consistent stats at a good sample size as I've been trying to practice good BRM as part of learning.

How many tables do you play @ a time? Most MTT players grind at least 8+ tables, since MTT's are sick in terms of variance etc... etc...

In terms of sample size, I'm not sure - your better off asking in MTTc - You need a pretty large sample size - I know for MTTSNG's - At least 1K.

Anyway, I'd take a shot - $5 tourneys are uber soft.

Usually just one MTT at a time with one other table open - either SNG or cash so I don't get bored and tilty. Not a big grinder - still learning. I'll check in MTT thread. Thanks.

So, this month, my goal will be to continue w/low stakes, take a shot at 5 $5 MTTs so I don't kill my BR, stay away from SH superturbo SNGs (they are sucking my profits and addicting) and try to continue slow grind at profit and not just break-even.

lol, PLO's fun! I just had a short 340 hand session where I ran godly. I was hitting sets and holding, I had set over set, i'd open with AAxx and flop came A44 and the person had A4 (we didn't get it in but I still made some) I hit my draws and I couldn't do much wrong. I ended up winning just over 5 buy-ins.

One of those hands I ran pretty good with. I was a bit worried about straights on turn but with my flush redraw I decided to make a bet that was going to commit me to calling an all in if they had the nuts.

Hero (CO): $6.64

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with 2 7 K K

Flop: ($0.45) 6 Q K (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.30, Hero raises to $0.97, SB folds, BB calls $0.67

Turn: ($2.39) J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB raises to $3.81 all in, Hero calls $1.81

River: ($10.01) 8 (2 players - 1 is all in)

Hero shows 2 7 K K (a flush, King high)
BB shows 5 6 J 6 (three of a kind, Sixes)
Hero wins $9.52

This was one of my biggest pots of the session. Very standard open from me, and I called because of position. I think some people might even put in the 4bet as I have blockers to AAxx and KKxx. But I decided to take a flop. NFD + top pair + backdoor flush draw was enough for me to be willing to get it in. I was a little unfortunate that villain held some of the cards I was trying to catch but I was still 60% to win.

I'm sort on cash right now but thought I would save up to a $100 BR (I have $60 right now). Make my first deposit on carbon and play .02/.04 limit for a while. When I'm up $25 I plan to play 4NL for a while to get my feet wet, win some, then move up to 10NL. Once I am comfortable with 10NL I will start playing the 2.20 MTT.

After planning to start grinding again yesterday I ended up taking the day off instead. Was good to do other things and put me in the mood to start a few tables up today.

Ran/played pretty well for the most part. Seem to be a lot more fish at 10NL than what I remember but maybe it's just 'cause it's the weekend. Managed to hit almost +5BIs in just under 1K hands (lol samplesize) so that's a good start at least.

A couple of WTF moments when the Villains flipped at showdown.

@norway.... basically set out static/robotic guidelines for preflop & what you do vs this player in each seating positions & practice it, play with a big enough bankroll as well so your never worrying about making mistakes as you will review them after session pretty much(i like 50-100)

you should have postflop guidelines as well just to make your decisions quicker & the more you practice the easier it gets

some hands that come up you will need to adjust & thus change from the std or else your just playing badly & auto-piloting but the more automatic simple decisions get then the more time you have to spend on tougher/complex ones...

I tried to break the weekend curse today. I played about 600 hands today and made 4 buy-ins. There was a huge fish at one of my tables, putting in 200bb with T672ss all in pre-flop. Completely spewing, I ran into him a bit. I hero called twice at the wrong time and lost a bit to him. Caught him once and got him all in with both of us having 2 pair but me having top 2. I knew he was playing fishy but PTR wasn't working at the time. I looked him up after

It seemed like a good spot to get it in on the flop. I guess not, 23% equity for me.

I dont like check calling that river, I prefer bet/folding it. Nothing hes calling with on the flop is betting the river that you beat apart from stone bluffs. If the turn and river brick and hes called twice and hes a good player I might check/call to give him a chance to bluff.

In that hand I would say he had a hand like 88-TT with a club.

PLO gods still being kind to me. I played 700 hands, had a few slightly tilting things. I hate when I bet turn as flush hits with nut blocker and short stacks shove and I can't do anything but fold. I made another 2 buy-ins, so I think i'm up close to $40 for the day. I won at 18bb/100 today - a pretty nice winrate

Bit of a sick fade but fortunately I had the flush redraw on the turn too. Not sure why we didn't get it in on the flop when villain had the most equity.

Only been playing poker for a couple of months so I might aswell post in this thread too.

BR: 35$
Site: Pokerstars
Plan: Try to learn and study poker over the next year while hopefully moving up a few levels.

Playing FR but tried SH and it was a bit more fun so I might try to make the switch a bit later on.
