Only reason I mentioned that again, is because I have no auto updates for any s/w on my cpu (Win 7, Stars client, MSE, ...). So this way if problems occur, it can help isolate the potential source. I suspected something on the Stars server side since you constantly upgrade your promotions.

Oddly enough, one crash last week forced me to do a quick login and your news login promo had the "submit ideas' suggestion just added, prior to my recent initial login.

I would be very interested to see what PokerStars app (Server client I'm guessing?), had done to it (including promotions?).

I 'll try using the backup cpu with the spinners to see if the problem follows.

Note: I find that the volume level of BTC intro (clock & music) seems a lot louder than the normal table sounds.

IDK if it's just me ...

Hello,

Is it normal to start the year with Bronzestar, last year i was a Supernova and did only 40k VPP. Why not Platinumstar? I also asked support but they responded nonsense.

Thank you!

There was a technical issue on January 1st where some players were incorrectly downgraded to BronzeStar to start the year. We are urgently working on a fix which will both upgrade you to your correct VIP Status and also reimburse you any StarsCoin you're owed due to earning at a lower VIP Status for the first days of the year.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and when the fix has been made I'll confirm in this thread.

Regards,
Dylan

I can confirm that the highlight stays on the previous table and not on the table I mouse-over. Additionally, at times, both tables are highlighted so the action is performed on both tables.

We think this might be a bug. The next time this happens, would you please note the hand ID of the table you moused over (where hotkey didn't take effect) and the hand ID of the last table (where the highlight and hotkey action is). Then send that and your log files to Support (go to Help > Log Files). Add the details in the text box and ask Support to forward the logs and your details to PokerStars Keith. Also please include your 2+2 handle so I can tie it back to our conversation here. Thanks!

Thanks for posting - I've reported this to the team.

The next time this happens, could you please note the hand ID of the last hand to be saved from that Zoom session, and then send that to Support with your log files?

Please go to Help > Log Files, add a description of the situation in the text box, include the hand ID of the last saved hand and click Send Log Files. Thanks!

Hmmm... Typically, new promotions and changes to promotions, updates to News and various other dynamic content do not involve any changes to the server code or the client software. They are pushed to the various clients through backend tools that our marketing teams use.

I'll pass your volume level comment on to the BTC team, thanks.

I played a Spinner tonight and had to go through 28 hands of a remaining player "Disconnected"; 15 seconds Timebank, 30 seconds disconnect time, and then 8 seconds for every hand before it folded to myself.

Yet when you get a Stars s/w crash, you get "Siting Out" out and blinded in less than a minute. Why the difference?

Follow-up:

Apparently the difference stems from ancient history (i.e. early in the life of PokerStars ) when for various reasons a client software crash was decided to be handled as Sitting Out. The server detects a crash condition and automatically puts the player into the Sitting Out state. The Disconnect state is only triggered when the Internet connection between the client/server is interrupted.

I don't have more information I can share at this point regarding why the two conditions are handled differently.

Sometimes I got crash after every hand, sometimes when tournament ends (spinngo). I have a little investigation, and what I see is problem with "History" save. When I "Turn Off" Hand History save then I got crashes when tournament end only. If I "Turn Off" both of it (HH and TS) I got no crashes. For sure I cannot play without history, but maybe this information helps in any way.

P.S. client crashes with WindowsXP and Windows7 installed from scratch with SP installed on it.

The VIP Status issue should now be fixed so you any affected players should have their correct VIP status. We have also credited StarsCoin to impacted players to make up the difference from earning VIP Steps at a lower status the first few days of the year.

Any questions about this feel free to send me a PM.

Dylan

We received your log files and table IDs - thank you!

The team is investigating but so far they have not been able to reproduce the effect.

We'd like to hear from any other players who have experienced something similar.

In the meantime, could you let us know how you typically arrange your tables (stacked, tiled, across multiple screens, etc.) and which third-party software apps you're using? Are you doing anything else on your computer while playing poker? The fact that the highlight doesn't follow the mouse suggests this might be a timing or component communication issue (mouse moves but the hotkey part of our code gets out of sync). Of course, I'm just speculating.

For the 29 out of 30 times when the hotkey works as expected (action occurs on table under mouse) is the highlight following the mouse movements faithfully? In other words, if you slide the cursor across several tables in succession, does the highlight jump along with it from table to table?

Not 100 % sure, but crashed last night playing spinners and I think that the new Pokerstars Festival promotion announcement was new.

This morning was bad on my backup computer as it crashed twice in one login attempt, and then again on next quick login. Noticed that you included "Submit ideas" on the promotion announcement window.

You have taken it off as of now ("ideas").

I guess you are seeing what I am seeing as you have added / removed promotion announcements in the last 20 minutes and seeing my crashes.

Possible consecutive login crashes & more severe with longer promo announcements?

Crashed twice with the "Qualify Main Event " promo after Poker festival, and then you removed it and crashed again.

I was winning so had to remember to bust out , but it did crash after I won last table too.

Seems that these announcements are killing my cpu's.

BTW, problem started Sept 1st or a day or two before (aprox), since i didn't play immediately prior to Sept 1st (check my logins).

If you want me to test some more, post.

Something else that you may find interesting regarding my backup notebook:

Last week I decided to update it to same Stars version as main cpu, and played some BTC for a bit.

As I was setting the Hotkeys (Tab, Shift, and whatever else), keys were displayed in Spanish description. Couldn't figure out what was going on, just let it be and it worked itself out in English as I checked it days later.

I just tried to login into Stars again, and my digital PIN was inputting until I got to one number and the Box where asterisks appear ****, and it went blank. Kept trying and trying and same deal.

Obviously when the Stars PIN Box goes blank, the "OK" button selection is transparent (removed).

I rebooted Stars and it worked (never had problem with main CPU)

My guess is that Stars was reading the keyboard input as another language (Spanish?), and refused to accept my PIN, even tho I'm 100 % sure it was correct (multiple trials).

Today's keyboard problem was 100 % unaffected by anything that I did to the CPU (which was nothing from last login this AM). It seems it expected a keyboard other than English on it's own.
