Although I think this move higher is unmerited I have of course studied it as it fits into my tech background. The easiest way to state this is to think of GoPro as a consumer tech wearables company. While every wearable device has completely failed, GoPro's has not. The people who buy their products are insanely loyal akin to iphone buyers. They also have partnership agreements forming with microsoft for xbox live and with youtube as well some others. Patents is another thing that creates intrinsic value behind the company, but in general it's legit.

Traded the GPRO ipo very light. Had small shares on the opening print and was flat by 30.00. I know a lot of guys who are pretty heavy trading IPOs in the opening minutes but I still haven't found the confidence to size in. Traded SERV as well but I didn't have the patience to hold it so only eeked out a few cents.
Good thing you cut out after the entry (nice entry btw.) The market certainly sees what I was warning you about yesterday. Thing is still getting pummeled today which is difficult to do for such a big/non momo/non growth name.

Yeah I know what you're saying. I just think the news overshoots so frequently especially on a big name like that. KO was a good example a couple days back on the news about Buffet taking them private even though that's obviously never going to happen. Any big spike on these mega caps is probably an overshoot.

Not remotely surprised by GoPro in this climate. I think Alibaba will go the exact same way assuming the markets are still happy in August.

Man, you can't expect something that will be priced at near 200 billion to trade like one priced at two billion. Then again what the heck do I know. I see the market trade up from 2pm to 4pm , eighty percent of the time and yet sit on my positions.

That was crazy, my 10.50's crashed and burned but I did get some at 8.855 and sold near close at 9.93.

I still have long positions. How quickly do you expect a partnership to be announced?

This is the huge market for MNKD, or the company that purchases them. More effective that straight meds for type II's. Type II's make up 90% of those that are diagnosed with Diabetes. You had about five minutes where it went down below 9.

From the FDA Approval:

Afrezza was studied in adults with type 2 diabetes in combination with oral antidiabetic drugs; the efficacy of mealtime Afrezza in type 2 diabetes patients was compared to placebo inhalation in a 24 week study. At week 24, treatment with Afrezza plus oral antidiabetic drugs provided a mean reduction in HbA1c that was statistically significantly greater compared to the HbA1c reduction observed in the placebo group.

Agreed, GoPro is not a good comparable at all but you can look at other recent china tech IPO's that compare better and have performed remarkably well. Even so Alibaba remains in a league of its own due to its size. That said I'm interested to know if the China central bank will be large buyers just to make its own country look good during the IPO. Based on the amount of equities they are buying internationally from that FT article, it would stand to reason that there is a 0% chance Alibaba falls no matter what price it decides to list at from the bank buying (and not selling) at IPO.

Indeed, "power hour" has seen the market randomly move higher out of no where a huge percentage of the time in the last month or two.

My ANFI order I mentioned last night and this morning didn't trigger. It dropped to 13.17, missing me by 1c before rallying to $13.84.

Good times.

Wrong on KORS so far, shorts still pulling it under. Will be buying some more calls down the road as it approaches earnings. Price will be attractive to speculate.

Who in the hell would have thought NinjaTrader would buy out Mirus and create their own brokerage, quite shocking.
