Thank you!
In this post, your quoted two of my posts. In one of them I said the following:
"ACR seems to be systematically pricing out anyone who wants to play with a bankroll under $100".
I only mentioned the structure of MTTs and SNG, so your response about cash games isn't relevant. I also said that satellites aren't a good option for someone starting out with a small bankroll, as yours all have unlmited rebuys.
I stand by my statement, with a slight amendment. Your are in fact systematically pricing out many beginning
tournament players.
The 50 cent satellites to which you referred have unlmited rebuys. Most new players have no clue that strategy for a satellite is much different than SNG or MTT. They also don't understand some of the consequences of rebuying halfway through a tournament, for example, that they will be playing a starting stack against a lot of much larger stacks.
I understand that poker is a
caveat emptor game. As the saying goes, "You pays your money and takes your chances." But having unlimited rebuy turbo satellites as the only option for someone with less than $100 is going to either send many players looking for another site, or burning through their money in a week or two on ACR, never to return. A very few will have a chance to build a bankroll, keep playing, and contribute to the poker economy.
I had no idea what I was doing when I first signed on to a poker site. I didn't know anyone that played poker. I just saw it on TV and thought that I could be good at it. I started playing $1 SNGs with a very slow structure and lots of play (as your regular $1 SNGs had) and it took me 3 months to lose my $50 deposit, which was a lot of money to me at the time. By then I was starting to figure things out, and I decided it was worth another precious $50 to give it another try.
With the options currently available to someone starting with between $50 and $100, you are setting up for failure players who are like I was when I started.
