I shall be back in the morning with updates.

Edit: For a while there, we had enough seated players to have been #4 on PokerScouted by peak players.

I'll get back to all of this properly in the morning, but the banner ad milestone banner is an approximation. It updates frequently with hand data, but it doesn't update every single hand, that'd be silly.

I'd much prefer that high stakes won anyway. It's not my money after all, I'd prefer the press.

Yep, it wouldn't let me top up properly, kept saying technical error. So I left all my tables to restart and log back in and it's saying the site is down again - 10k hands short of the next milestone.

So, awake again, and there have been more problems.

First, there is a problem with the table creator when we have got close to the milestones twice. Details are a bit sketchy at the moment but I think this was the same problem both times.

Second, there was a problem at ~0530 with Maltese internet

Third, there was a power failure at our Maltese internet provider that is causing problems right now (I believe a lot of other sites there are down too). I'm not sure if this is the same thing as the second problem but it seems likely.

We're looking into all of it and hopefully will have it fixed soon.

When it rains it pours...

Incidentally, the problems at the moment manifest as a white screen on login. Also our main .com website appears to be down.

Yesterday we had to pause tournaments when we had milestone problems. Some were cancelled and refunded. Most of these payments were done automatically and the rest will be done once I get into the office this morning. Refunds are done according to our policy at https://a1s.unicdn.net/polopoly_fs/1...Game_Rules.pdf which isn't down at the moment, so the weird link is a good thing for once. See Tourney Rules, rules 27-29.

Are you saying your enitre site relies on the Maltese internet?? That explains why your site is so unstable especially for sports betting at peak hours.

There're limits to where we're allowed to place our servers. Obviously it sucks when it breaks like this, but hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

The 95m hand was a server problem on our end. This has now been fixed as far as I can tell.

The 95.1m hand was a Maltese internet problem, and those problems are ongoing.

We're currently looking into how we'll refund players/make it good again. I'll let you know when we have updates.

Obviously I apologise for the problems last night (and the different set of ones that we have this morning). It's deeply disappointing for us because at one point we had more seats than Party or FTP, quite asides from the fact that it was a terrible experience for players at the time.

The following is to clear up some details of what happened - hopefully it doesn't look like I'm making excuses anywhere.

The counter isn't a fake - it's just that it only looks at the hand count every 30s or whatever, and then it fills in the gaps. That means that if all hands stop, the counter doesn't realise.

We have the capacity to handle 10x as many players as normal. We crashed at about 4-5x the normal - it wasn't a server capacity problem, I believe it was a server bug.

Also, I designed Milestones so that opening 50+ tables as the counter comes close is negative EV. It divides flops seen in the past hour by the number of tables you're playing, so if you open a table and don't see a flop, it effectively costs you money.

the idea behind the promo seems to be working such a shame the servers aren't co operating

Yup. I guess the positive we can take from this is that as a proof of concept it works. By deciding it on number of flops over the past hour we also remove the incentive to play tight right up until the hand hits. There's no reason for us to think that future milestones will have problems, so this should work out quite well for the next few weeks... He says with his fingers crossed.

I declare it a push. Though I think I'd have lost, it was too late by the time we crashed.

I'm fairly confident that nobody lost money in the crash, except for tournaments, which have mostly been automatically refunded. We have a small number of manual refunds to handle but we need the site back up to do it.

If anyone has missing money, please let me know and we will investigate.

To make up for the 95 millionth hand debacle, we will:

1. Set the payouts for hands 96m, 97m and 98m to the same level as the 95 millionth hand. Our expectation will be approximately €27k higher (i.e. we'll award, on average, €27k more now).

2. We will also run a €10k freeroll and invite all the players who were online when we were nearing 95m the first time round. We'll run this at 20:00 CET tomorrow, Weds 26th.

3. We will also manually check the play of everyone who was dealt into the eventual 95 millionth hand. We will increase their payouts if they should have had a higher multiplier but didn't due to the earlier crash.

The freeroll is contingent on the Maltese internet working again. We have fixed the problem that caused the crash in hand 95m. We will mail all affected players once the site is back up.

The problems for hand 95.1m were down to Maltese internet, so this should be fine too once they have sorted it out on their end.

Sorry again for the problems. While it worked, it worked very well indeed. We were bigger than Party Poker or FTP, and we were ~3x the size of MicroGaming, the network we left earlier this year.

On a happier note, the second day of the cash game.

The current plan is to have the stream up for 4pm GMT (5pm CET, 11am EST), but it depends to some degree on when the players are ready. Today's starting lineup is:

Viktor Blom
Micke Norinder
Tomas Brolin
Morten Langli
Frode Fagerli
Vincent Gabel
Nicolas Levi
Quentin Lecomte
