As someone who plays short sessions in the evening (as I guess a lot of working people do), I would love to have an indication of how long a tournament is expected to run.
Would it be possible to add to the lobby an estimated tournament time? Or even easier for you: maybe make a webpage with a table: one axis with the number of minutes per blind level, one axis with the number of participants, which indicates the average time for each combination.

I'm always reluctant to register for bigstacks or actually any non-turbo's on a weekday, just because I don't want to risk being still playing at 3 am.

I know it's probably not hard to know these things roughly by heart, but I still don't.

Perhaps a note that said, for example, yesterday's hand for hand play was reached after 2 hours and 8 minutes. Informative, but I wonder if it would scare away entrants.

about the DT €200 idea... depends on how many entrants you get ?
I think double money is very cool and obviously much better than just the amount lost, but IMO those tournies should always have GTD payouts to 20-25% of top players, if you can afford that...

I can only say about 20€ DT, that it (maybe obviously) worked much better when it had just ~400 entrants and 100 winners than nowadays when we can expect 600-700 players and same amount of winners. (btw I really hope you will increase prizes when you reach 1000 players in €20 DT)

The problem there is that everyone gets the message, including ones who know about it. I really dislike when sites/emails condescend towards me and I can't imagine it's only me that feels that way.

This message explains why stalling won't work without being condescending, but I agree it's a bit oblique. Someone has to read it and think about it a little before going back to their normal pattern:

"Hand for Hand is now in progress. The next hand at this table will be dealt when hands are completed at all other tables"

This is a problem we have with milestones too. We made our system so that it's much more valuable to play for an hour in the lead up to the hand rather than open as many tables as possible a minute before the hand hits. But because people are used to how PS works, they do the latter anyway. We made it as explicit as we can, and people still do it. So I think that all we can do here is nudge people in the right direction.

If we do the slightly more subtle wording, we get some improvement. If we do the stronger wording, we get additional improvement but we also annoy some players. In either case, we won't solve the problem entirely, only improve it. I don't want to knowingly/willingly upset players, so I lean towards my phrasing.

Sorry, I don't convert bonuses that have partial playthrough. I've extended the bonus though.

We were talking about having this kind of feature when we redesigned the tourney lobbies. I don't want to show the actual time because it'll scare people away: people don't mind if a tournament takes 3 hours if they reach the final table, but if you tell them that in advance they may not enter.

The solution that we had was to have a star-rating kind of system (or hourglasses, or watches or something), where the longer tournaments had more hourglasses. We'd base that off the median time for a player to be knocked out of that tournament.

It didn't make it into the client because it was hard to make, but maybe we could make a webpage that did that.

I think DT/SDT are good promotions and I'm interested in making more out of them. I have targets for how much money I can spend on promotions but I don't have good reporting on what we're actually spending at the moment, so I can't do anything here yet.

But if we have another €16k free each month, I think the best plan is to have a second "normal" DT each week, except on a different day of the week. We'd still award one DT ticket to each eligible player, but this system ought to halve the number of players in a specific tournament. We can capture the people who can't play on Tuesdays, and we increase everyone's EV.

I think it depends on the audience. People who play NL100+ are going to prefer the 400 I think. People who run really bad at lower stakes are going to prefer the 200. So we probably have to think about just who we are aiming this at.

For the €4 MTT ticket, yes, done. But I'm afraid I don't exchange satellite tickets to other types of ticket outside that satellite system.
