I've never played there, but this is what my impression is: They only offer Hold 'em, still have a relatively small player base, and there are often wait times for cash games or SNG's to get enough players to start. Apparently their tournys are pretty good though.

Those are some of the (for me) negative things I remember seeing about them, but if anyone wants to defend them or tell me I have a wrong impression of them, I'd love to hear it.

They have a much larger player pool than Merge, but that being said I'm sure if you like mixed games it is always gonna be hit or miss. Their cash games are brutal because it is filled by the most regulars you will ever see because of their ongoing promotion "The Beast". If you haven't heard of what this is, it is a jackpot that gets dispersed to the players based on the amount of rake they have done. It is like a rake race, so the more you rake, the more you make, and if you barely play you will get nothing. They have a huge tournament promotion going on at the moment, some very nice price pools (this is in parenthesis because I'm meaning for the American market).

Thanks for the info, jay.

Yes, I remember reading about The Beast. Do their cash games & SNG's fill up faster than they used to? How long are the late reg times for tournys?

I can see how players who are only focused on money (wink) would like playing there, but for me it's as much about the game experience and the other games besides Hold 'em when I can get them, which is why I mentioned I enjoy sometimes playing for play money on Stars. Also, I might not be a strong enough player to be competitive in their cash games. What are their lowest stakes?

This is a little concerning and a lot annoying.

It would be ironic if Carbon folded the same day I got my reimbursement payment from UB.

Can anyone articulate on this site it says Carbon may be shutting down? I was just google browsing trying to see if Carbon said anything about the down time.

I think depending on the size of the tournament late reg is 2-4 hours, they have 2NL on WPN. I would not advise any holdem cash on here even at the lowest limits. As far as SnG's go I have no idea sorry, never really play them.

Someone posted this link within the last year. How much credence do you give an article that states Carbon still suffers from long cash out delays?

I'm pretty surprised anyone is still playing on this network for 3 reasons: 1. the player base is tiny. 2. the w/d fees are massive compared to bovada and global. 3. (most of) you have the option to play on bovada and global

the only positive I see to this network is they offer bonus/rakeback, but isn't that totally eaten by the fees?

Tiny player base to you is small to me in comparison to Ignition and WPN. The 5% btc cash out fee is irritable, but not MASSIVE. Personally, I can't play on Bovada/Ignition, have option to play on Global, and do play on WPN. I'm pretty surprised more folks are not playing here, just due to the software. And 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours late registration, isn't bad for tournaments today. Though the Sunday big boy tournaments are 3 hours and 50 minutes late reg. I guess recreational folks like this site just fine, as do regular grinders to supplement their other play.

I'm not able to play on WPN, but only hear bad things about it anyway. I didn't think about the tournies on merge, so ya if they are great that would be another plus. also, I guess if a person were to take advantage of rb/bonus (plus is a winning player), the 5% fee wouldn't be as bad as I was thinking. I'm still not going to deposit on merge. may as well just keep all my play on two sites I think.

I was having weird lobby issues yesterday where it would alternate between showing almost no players at the cash tables and showing the actual players. (for example for 25 and 50 games it was showing 0,0,6,1,0 players or something, then it would suddenly flicker to showing the actual players - 6, 16, 23, 25 or whatever. If I tried to sit while it was showing almost no players, I would get an error that the table has been shutdown. Not sure if it's related ..

I just logged in. I guess the site must have been down for awhile today and just come back up. There were maybe 6 players total for cash NL10 and NL25 (6 max & full ring) , although more have joined in the last five minutes.

Tournys show 4 players or less for those with players registered and it's only the Sunday Big Ticket and Nightly tournys showing . Whoa...all of of a sudden the screen just flashed and for a minute the regular currently running and today's upcoming tournys were visible with as many as 93 players. It seems to be going back and forth between the two. SNG screen is completely blank.

This is really weird. Now the Cash games screen is flashing between almost no players and then a relatively 'normal' amount. Something is seriously wrong with the software.

It was acting funny for me yesterday too. Logged in and saw no sngs or mtts in the lobby. Left the lobby open and after about 20 minutes some SNG's appeared and then disappeared after about a minute so I figured they were having issues and called it a night

SNG lobby looks fine today but haven't tried playing anything yet
