You don't like late registering 10 from the money when other people have been playing for 6 hours? They don't seem to get less people play with these awful structures. The only time the $100K hasn't had over lay in like the last month and a half they basically gave away 50 entries giving like 200 people a ticket to the $100K satty.

Late reg would be a meh issue if it wasn't unlimited reentries and late reg up until 10 or less from the money consistently in lots of tournaments. If they would limit the entries to say 3-4 and look at the late reg on a per tournament bases lots of people would be happy.

I've yet to have someone explain how 4 hour late and unlimited reentries aren't bad for everyone in the long run.

Except that this thread would have ten new pages of people going nuts b/c the guarantees were lowered accordingly. That is the only way those late registrations are being curbed right now IMHO.

Is the site laggy for anyone else right now? Also, my sounds seem to have cut out... quit and restarted the client few times and still the case.

Probably... Late reg is like a bad drug for Merge... Bovada main event had $160K prize pool last night. No Re-entries. I think the recs have spoken on where and how they prefer to play tournament poker.

I don't think they are catering to the recs over the regs, they aren't really catering to anyone. The rewards are bad for the regs, but the structures being horrible for the recs is a much bigger deal.
Does anyone know how these invites to the 35% tier usually happen? Are they at the beginning of a month? Do they e-mail the player, or does their admin page just update to reflect the change? Have any Aced players gotten an invite (or just Carbon)?

Thx

I got it on October 31st so I assume they review at the end of the month. No email or anything, just updated in my player admin. And, I know that somebody on aced posted itt that they got it.

The guarantees are already crap. Less people are playing because they are unplayable. A regular person with a regular job sees 5 hours of late reg for a Sunday main event and doesn't play. Even if it doesn't take any longer, they don't know that. They also figure out very quickly they have a very small chance of winning if they aren't reentering.

Why do you think the best team almost always wins in the NBA playoffs and not in the NFL? It's a 7 game series compared to 1 and done.

Not to mention how unfair it is in the regular MTTs when you've played for 3 44 minutes and someone buys in with a minute to go >10 from the $ and wins 5 straight all ins and wins the tournament by playing for an hour.

Quit blindly defending this POS site and acknowledge the issues with this format and use your "pull" to help make things better.

Here's my interpretation of what's going on; They are testing 2 models. Aced/Carbon/PH is the model with God awful structures to get bigger guarantees and allow more tables.

PO/SB are using the Bovada model with more normal structures and tables limits. They don't care which one dies, they own it all anyway.

Fwiw, MTTs on PO/SB have been doing pretty well with a much shorter registration period. There just isn't many of them and your forced to a table cap.

Was kicked off for over 45 minutes yesterday while 5 tabling. When told technical support was told no one else had any problems on Sunday and it must be my fault ? Anyone else continue to lag out on Sunday?

Faced similar problem on Sunday. Happened just once though mine was less than 5 minutes as I was not kicked out of any tables.

I really don't get a lot of why this upsets people so much. If I've been playing for a few hours and I'm building a stack, then why wouldn't I want people coming in with a few mins of late reg left and shoving with marginal hands? Sure, they might win a few toss ups. But on the whole, you should be +EV unless you are spite calling with just as marginal hands because they late reg.

They are supposed to email players when they are chosen for the top 35% tier.

This. I don't see all the hate for it. I mean I'm not a fan of 4 hours of late reg with unlimited rebuys simply because it prolongs the hell out of tournaments and makes them hours longer than they need to be. But a last-second late reg player coming in with 10% of the average stack size doesn't bother me at all.

My issue is that in every tournament except most of the nightly tournaments they can register 10 or less from the money. You've been grinding for almost 4 hours and they come to the table fresh and after 2 double ups they're in the money.

I'm less concerned w/ late reg than I am unlimited reentries. Unlimited reentries helps no one but the best players w/ the most money. It's turned some of the recs I know who played on Merge away because they feel they have very little chance of winning.

The allure of MTTs is having your life on the line and anybody having a shot at winning if they get lucky. Your tournament life isn't on the line for 75% of the tournament now.

How obvious does this need to be for them to figure out? MTT traffic is in the toilet since they started doing this nonsense. I can understand some of the $109's and $215's being longer than an hour, but 4? 5? 6? An $11 $2500 MTT has 3 45 minutes of late reg?

The site was doing just fine back when we had a real schedule w/ normal registration and no reentries. I know they've lost players through segregation and skins leaving (being kicked off), but a lot of people would play here if it was the way it used to be.

It might bother all the players who have been playing for 4 hours with 10% chip stacks themselves who had been hoping to squeak into the money.

Pretty tilting that they pulled the nightly $60 9k, $215 15k, and $109 turbo 2.5k again today.

Bovada and ACR still have their full schedules.
