That's not a very accurate portrayal of how things went down, and since that one isolated incident affecting ~a dozen accounts of MTT players, no further incidents have taken place. I seriously think that the publicity was so bad for all Merge partners that they understand now that such tactics should never be used again.

You can download all of your hand histories, and see EVERYONE'S hole cards at Bovada (24h delay). Thus, if you feel you were cheated, you can easily look into it and report it to security. There are numerous examples on 2+2 of players being refunded for cheating, many without having reported it themselves.
