D/C are continuing and they are intermittent. Was unable to login for 3 tries, then able to login and start up 3 tables. Played for about 15 min and BOOM! -> disconnect during all-in.

Yeah, clicked the all-in button and then got d/ced... no idea if I actually ended up all-in or won/lost the hand.

But they are saying all exclusions are permanent and they can't reverse it.

I simply didn't describe this thoroughly enough and now I am not given a chance to explain exactly what I meant.

I understand why you don't lift exclusions but you can't make an exception for someone who didn't want a full exclusion? Considering I made this exclusion today and I clearly still want to play poker.... I just had problems with playing blackjack and I wanted to quit torching money on fire on -EV bets.

Also, I was in the back to school promotion so if I happen to win that drawing I get nothing?

Anyone know a Bovada rep on 2+2 that I should whisper regarding this? Thanks.
You had to of said something to trigger them into thinking that you have a gambling problem. All you had to say was "please disable all casino games (blackjack, roulette, craps, etc...) including the blackjack game inside the poker client." That's all you had to say. I'm curious, what exactly did you say in the e-mail that you sent to them?

Yeah, I said that I wanted to be excluded from all casino games on the casino software and on the poker software. I also said that I just wanted blackjack removed on the poker software. I didn't think they would count poker as a casino game and obviously now that I reread my e-mail I understand why they banned me from everthing.

I contacted customer support via the phone and talked to a very polite lady. She listened to my situation and pulled up my account and checked the e-mail. She understood that it was a mistake and she lifted my exclusion on poker. I checked it out and I can login now and I checked to see if I am excluded from blackjack and sure enough i am.

I'm extremely happy because I admit I have gambling problems when it comes to pit games. I would tilt after losing on poker sometimes and go to blackjack and try to win some losses back. Soooo -EV and that's why I just wanted to get the exclusion. I have a strong enough willpower to steer away from pit games when I go to play poker at the casino. But for some reason it was just too tempting for me online.

Anyways, I gotta hand it to Bovada. They provide great customer service and I got exactly what I wanted. Now i can just sit back and grind teh pokerz. Without having to worry about torching money to their casino.

I bet we could make a whole separate thread, and mods please enlighten me if one already exists, on playing on online on a site with no HUD. The vast majority of discourse of hands on this site involves making decisions based off of villain HUD info. This could also be particularly helpful if legal Internet poker ever truly becomes widespread in the U.S., as they will not be allowing HUDs (see: Nevada sites UP and WSOP)
Yes I actually have Holdem Indicator and Tournament Indicator and use both every time I play. When I multi-table I mainly do 9 person tables not six max. I also use a program I found on two plus two called Placemint. The program shrinks the tables and will display them wherever you want on your screen.

I definitely take a lot of player notes and pay attention to hands. If I am in the zone I will play up to 4 tables, If I'm tired I might just play 1 or 2. I found out the hard way that more isn't always better. If you can pay attention to what players are doing you will be able to isolate against fish pretty easily. That's where you win most of your money, isolating against players that are tilting or don't play fundamentally sound..or drunks lol.

I have been getting a strange crash problem once everyday after 5+ hours usually, always when I'm in the "account" tab.

Running Mac OSX 10.8.5

When the crash occurs I have to restart the entire computer to get past the splash screen. Is this happening with anyone else?

How long is the current poker series running?

Also, had some deposit issues about a week ago. I tried to use my current visa debit card which was just issued to me after my old one expired and it was declined. I then tried another Visa card which I had used before and it was accepted. Anyone sure why this is?

I can't stand this either. It seems like it happens a lot on Bovada.

I am sure it has been explained here but I can't seem to find a solid answer. How is Bovada able to operate in the U.S.? And if they are actually legit, why has everyone been saying online poker in the U.S has been dead since black friday?

Does anyone know if it's possible to hide/block the balance in our poker account? Just curious.

They share a player pool with Bodog, because they are one and the same company. However under the LLC Bovada, IF the US decides to take action against them and shut them down their liability would be limited. There are still a few rogue poker sites out there including Betonline, Lock, Juicy Stakes (Cake Poker), Carbon and others. Out of those mentioned Bovada has the highest volume witch is not really all that high compared with sites of old before black Friday. I have a feeling the days are numbered for these rogue sites anyway because US will probably be legalizing online poker within the next few years, and when they do players would probably migrate to the new regulated sites because of the increased volume and softer games.

Thanks for the answer. I just made a deposit on Bovada but was wondering why they're legit but others aren't.

Deposit as much as possible RIGHT NOW for their bonus lol. I effed up and only deposited $100 the first day, so that's my only bonus even though I've earned enough poker points that with 2 weeks left that Id be on pace to get $400-$450... If only I had deposited $500 to start like I did on Carbon. damn!!

Disconnected twice on me in ~1 hour...so frustrating.

You'd think a site that doesn't have many bonuses could at least get reasonable software.

From the page you linked:

"The Gift Card may not be used in the territories of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam, or outside of the United States, including internet, mail and phone order merchants outside of the United States. The Gift Card may not be purchased for resale or resold."

I guess I skimmed right over that when I looked at it

I mean if you pay very close attention, you can discover the extreme outliers (eg nits and maniacs). You can also notice who is a calling station, and who you can bluff against. You just gotta put that info in the notes. You obviously never get too detailed, such as "3.7 3Bet %" like in HUD, but I pick up on just enough info.

Also, with limited info, I tend to play what i consider, imo, to be "optimal poker" for each stake. It becomes less of "is player 1 bluff raising me here?" And more of "most players at this stake have a hand that beats me when they raise here, so fold." I then keep an eye on that player to see if maybe they are just a cook, and Then things may change next time.

Much harder than playing online with a HUD, but the upside of course is that sites with no HUD and a table-max such as Bovada attract fishier players.
welcome to the game of poker, yes you can actually play it without a program to play it for you. enjoy!
